New AMD 300 series chiphell benchies

it's 100% critical that the pc looks good inside, i hope AMD Matt passes this on

Really??

The only thing critical for AMD is it's performance. It is critical that games are smooth as possible. That is why people buy new GPU's for right?

Do you invite the girls/people to take a look inside your PC or something? :p

Probably has a water cooler like the 295X2.

Either that or a better fan. If the 380X is as good as rumours would suggest, I would prefer to buy one with the AIO water cooler if it helps OC more and helps with noise levels without costing too much more money than air cooler versions.

I don't particularly care how my case looks inside, but it's already fairly large and won't fit more than 2 more radiators in it (I already have a Swiftech 280mm rad at the top of my case for CPU cooling)

No problem :) I've still not encountered any sources saying these cards are coming out soon. Last I heard was around June.
Neither have I. An official announcement could be soon, we don't know. Gibbo said his info suggested June, so I'd be surprised if the cards suddenly materialise in a couple of months. And even though AMD would sell a boat load upon release, I'm sure they'll want to clear out as much of the 290 stock beforehand, hence the great deals on them at the moment.

If these rumours are true and it is using an aio cooler as standard then don't these numbers seem a bit unfair as it's essentially pitting a liquid cooled card against say a standard 980 then saying look it's 40% better. for comparison when they are released I'd like to see it put against a 290x with a hg10 and an equivalent aio like h80i to get a level playing field as possible and then see how much of an improvement there is compared between the two generations

So, hang on, the 'island picture' in the chart is the 300 series? But it's being beaten by an older 295X2, and by the same token that means a 290X Crossfire set-up would beat it too?

28nm same node.
Godlike if true.
AMD rules and improve the best card even more.

Right then, i was planning on an upgrade this year, want to keep my 4770k for a bit longer, so i want to upgrade my Mobo and i was planning on 2 x 380/390X cards to fit in it.

If the rumors of AIO cooling is true, this wont bother me, i have a Phanteks Enthoo Primo, i can easily drop a pair of AIO Rads to the bottom of the case on intake and raise the case off the floor a good distance on a custom frame with coasters :)

Just need to choose a decent mobo to drop them in, im guessing my 1000w Platinum Superflower PSU will run the whole shebang nicely.

Also Freesync should be out as well so i can grab a nice new monitor to plug them into

Cant wait.

If the prices of the 295x cads drop at the release of the 300 cards, do you think it will be worth getting one of the 295x cards if they are smiler price? or will there be other advantages with the new cards?

Did I hear about a different type of memory on the 300 cards?

It doesn't matter how AMD chooses to cool it's card the comparison will be at price points not what cooler design each company chooses.

AIO's are mainstream now for CPU's so it was only a matter of time before they started appearing on video cards which use a lot more power and create more heat.

I was hoping this could go in my mini itx build. If its water cooled though that wouldn't be feasible. Hope it just uses a regular air cooler.

what's that ! no the girls will have to pay me to see inside my nice new case, it's 10 quid for a 10 second look...coffee not included :D;)

Exactly. It all comes down to price for performance.

Haha. I bet you must have people queuing up.. lol :p

Sounds about right. Sadly the days of double performance for each new GPU generation are behind us (4870 to 5870 was epic!), so the new AMD card will be slower than the 295X2, but hopefully noticeably faster than a single 290X.

As others have said, looks promising but I'm still taking a large amount of salt with this one.

well if the 285 is anything to go by it will eb a fine thing. the 285 has less grunt than a 280x but out shines it in everyway.

So I'll expect good things from the 3XX(X) when ever it comes out.
