New and shocking footage of British troops torturing Iraqis...

I'm asking myself what useful and constructive outcome can we expect from the media showing these events that happened in early 2004, two years ago?

It's being investigated by the Army. The Army have already condemned the actions of the men. O.K. so we all agree it shouldn't have happened and thankfully these idiots will no doubt end up in front of a court martial soon.

Am I the only one thinking that the media in the UK should be thinking about the welfare of the soldiers that remain?
 
I wonder how many of you who are saying this was torture would rather they followed the book...IE went after these kids, apprehended them and then threw them in prison along with tons of hardened soldiers? Would that be better for them than a quick kicking?

Its not torture, its just an old fashioned way of dealing with yobs...teach em a 5 minute lesson rather than putting them into the prison system...
 
Get a grip guys, this is the same year that six British redcaps were slaughtered when they laid down their weapons to avoid hurting any Iraquis.

Two were summarily executed with a shot to the head whilst unarmed.....I'm pretty sure they would have been glad of a beating compared to being executed.

Those people would not have been there if they had been "innocent" civilians.......The Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but.... the Truth of the Media.......good to see you all doing your research as opposed to believing the News of the World\Sun!!

Do I condone arbitary beatings?, NO (unless your'e from Yorkshire!), and Richdog, were the British troops captured during the 1991 conflict in a position to threaten anyone?, NO, but they still received beatings and the daily threat of death.....memories are so short these days!!

Broaden your horizons people.....get out more!!

These are not their tactics...

Their tactics would have been to shoot at the kids throwing stones.
 
Innocent my arse, they were throwing stones and they got beating for it. That is the sort of treatment we should be dishing out on our own streets to instill some discipline into the youth running riot, let alone Iraqi idiots.

If anyone thinks that investigating this is going to earn any respect from the Iraqis is sadly mistaken, they will just see it as a weakness, just as if we would have done nothing. Torturing prisoners and gloating is unacceptable, giving rioters a good old fashioned beating isn't.

Ill ask again, what would you have them do? They are supposed to be supporting order..They cannot allow people to run round rioting and throwing stones all over the place.

What should they do? Shoot at them? Arrest them and throw them in prison with hardened terrorists?

Come on..Lets have some alternatives here.
 
Civilised smivilised....sit in front of your pc and be "civilised", debate the latest specs of the BMW and be civilised, discuss Women's rights and be civilised.

Go to where the real action is....it's not a question of being "better" than them.....merely a question of what people understand.

The next time a 90 or 10 year old is raped near your neighourhood remember to be "civilised" with your response, particularly if it's your Grandmother or Daughter.

Want to string them up or beat them to death?, no, of course you don't, your'e far too "civilised" for that, turn the other cheek, forgive them immediately, and promise to fund them through University and make their lives so much better.....so they can rape your wife as well!!.

The tactics aren't supposed to make us better than them....they are employed to make them realise we will not be walked over without consequence!!.

lol i watched it and was waiting for this so called beating and it ended, more like a few slaps to a few young stone throwers, but ok let them off and tomorrow it will be fire bombs or worse.

I say would you be so kind and not stone our army base good sir's, or ill have to type up a report on you all.

The bloke who filmed it was a ***** though.
