New Build

Will get a project log underway on Wednesday :) Step by step images I think to document for myself and anyone else who's interested. Hopefully helpful for any other first time builders out there. Hopefully don't get stuck mid-way and have to ask for help ha.

Thanks again chaps.

Just noticed that the cables are labelled as 'extensions'. Does this mean i have to use the original PSU cables aswell as the orange cables? Just thinking for cable management its even more to worry about!

As for the case wires (2pin iso) do the originals simmply unplug from the front of the case? They came pre plugged in on my 300r you see.

Regards,

Add the extensions to the existing cables.

Does that not get messy? Ideally I want orange cables coming out the PSU and orange cables going into the motherboard. I guess I won't get this in extensions then.

PSU has white light emitting out of cable inputs you see so draws attention to the cables. At the same time I hate the coloured wires going into the motherboard.

Only 2 options are to get the original cables custom sleeved or to get one of the supporting Corsair PSUs where you can buy a different cable set already sleeved in different colours (though not as nice as a decent custom set) :)

Thanks mate. I think i would have black original cables coming out of the PSU and orange going into motherboard. Extensions allow me to do this? As with some cables (GPU and CPU) there are parts that are hanging next to the socket that don't need to be plugged in e.g CPU is 4 pin and 2 pin power but they supplied one 4 pin and another 4 pin supplied in 2 halfs (2 sets of 2) and i've only needed to plug 1 set of the 2 in, leaving the other 2 hanging next to it (hopefully this makes sense :S). I cant recall what the actual numbers are btw, so just using this as an excample. Hopefully the extensions could fix this by hiding the hanging bits behind the board.

Personally, from where you are now in the build etc... I'd just use the normal cables out of the PSU, cable tie them nice and neatly out of the way behind the motherboard tray (rear of case area) and then use the extensions back to the PC, which if done neatly will look epic :)

davido_labido (forum member) does great custom sleeving. And Pexon PCs.

What are his prices usually? Think he will be able to solve the issue with my GPU and CPU power leaders having to many headers?

Thanks mate. Will consider this.

Will upload some pics to explain the situation with the spare headers on CPU and GPU power soon.

You will have to ask yourself, no discussion about that please as OcUK sell braided extensions and thus its competition.
