New computer build.

Should I trail it upwards and underneath the fan? Its because there is a cutout at the top of the case which I think it could go through?

Yep, and that cut out is where the 8pin for the CPU comes out of too.

Also i just noticed that my hyper 212 twists a little bit, its fixed down but the plate can twist a little. Is this normal?

Normal.

Hey guys, so motherboard is in and I am now about to connect the front panel headers. I found these in the mobo box. Do I install these first?

Yep figured that out, never seen it like that before though thanks! And yes I believe the blue is for that. Also do I not need all of them? For the front panel connectors I have two different types, JFP1 and JFP2. Is one AMD or something?

Thanks

There is no specific AMD/Intel connectors.

you got HD audio with a AC'97 connector that you dont use, just connect the HD audio into the motherboard connector.

USB, two ports.

Reset SW
PWR SW
HDD led
PWR led

I think thats all the case has from memory.

Hello there, that is basically what I have done. I have used only one connector for the front panel headers.

The USB2 front panel port I have directly connected onto the mobo.

And as you said the HD audio I have connected but have left the AC. This is what I have:

Right thanks. I now have the sata cable from the esata on the front panel to connect. Does this use Sata II? Does it matter which port? Or should I wait until harddrives are in?

And one more thing sorry. The sys fan connections on the mobo how do I connect the case fans to these? Or do I not need to? Its just all I can see on the case fans are power cables?

Thanks!

EDIT: I think the fans are molex?

If the fans are molex, then get them around the back of the motherboard tray and connect to one of the PSU cables with a molex on it.

You can also daisy chain the fans together, plug a male molex into a female molex and then all these into a single molex on a PSU.

Do the Esata last, just stick it anything thats left.

Right thats done thanks for that, makes sense to leave the esata. With the daisy chaining I have done what you have said however I am now struggling to connect the male 4 pin to one of the PSU cables. I presume its any 4 pin connector? Also does it matter if some have say three connections on the same cable? Can they still be used?

Thanks for all the help!

Its probably the actual metal pins inside the connector.

These wobble/move and can be a right pain sometimes just to get in the opposite connectors round metal inside bits.

If you hold the plastic connector in one hand and a wire on the back with the other you will see how easily it moves around.

there is no end to this story what's going on :)

loved this thread, ive just done my first build and this was exactly how i was but all the question's were to my self it took me a while hahaha!

Thanks for all the responses. It's also nice to know I am not the only one with all these questions! I am currently at work but just wanted to ask whether or not it matters where the SSD/HD go. As in which one should be on top? Also I read that they shouldn't be in line with the GPU, is this right and if it is do I just put them in the slots below it?

Thanks everyone! :)

They can go anywhere.

The only time you may not want them in line with the GPU is if you have a small case and the drives are fitted normally, a long graphics card can block a drive bay or two.

Your case has them fitted sideways so wont be an issue.
