New computer build.

Right thanks for the responses, I have a little problem. I have the SSD bracket and then the hard drisk bay which has 4 rubber parts with a metal pin on each. Is this supposed to go into the side of the bracket?

Thanks.

Oh, wasn't expecting that! I think it has the holes, but not really sure. Should the bracket sit as far back as possible or right at the front? And should those side pins be forced into the holes? This is kind of what I have:

Thanks, that kind of helps. So I lined up the first hole with the first pin to get this:

But then I had the problem of the pin in the rubber that is on the bay. I have replaced this with a screw because I am guessing that is what you have to do? The hole on the bracket has a thread so no way can one of those pins go into it. This is what I have done so far, is this correct?

Hey guys, sorry I had to go out for a bit. The SSD bracket has now been drilled and is now snuggly fit in the bay with a screw in the middle. Hopefully its all correct!

The next problem is exactly the same, the holes on the HD are threaded and the pins do not fit properly into them. I am not quite sure what to do about it?

Thanks guys :)

Yep they went in with a few pushes on each and a little bit of force. Did not expect the pins to go into a hole that was threaded!

But both hard drives are now in, packed away now and ready for tommorow. Not much more to go!

Thanks for the help :)

Hey everyone, another few questions :) Basically I am just connecting all of the sata cables up. Firstly my motherboard came with all sata III 6gbps cables. Are these fine to use with everything?

Next do I have to plug all of my sata II devices into the sata II ports or does it not matter because sata III is backwards compatable? Also what is esata sata II or sata III?

Lastly with some of the sata cable ends they are kind of L shaped, are these to use at the device end? For example on the harddrive so that it does not stick out too far?

Thanks guys :)

Thanks for that. The sata cables are all connected to the SATA II ports. I have also connected up the power cables to the drive and hard drives. I have connected the main cable to the mobo but was just wondering which one it is for the CPU.

It has 4 pins showing but with a cover on another 4 I think. I am guessing it is just one of the two 4 pin connectors on the cable. I am also quite worried about the back where all the cables are. Don't know if I will be able to have good cable management!

Thanks :)

the cover is here if you have only a 4 pin connector from the PSU. YOU have 4+4 from the PSU, so you can remove the cover and plug the two 4 pin conectors in.

for cable management, use cable ties to tidy it up.

Oh right thanks! Is that this cable then: "One cable with two ATX12V connectors that together form an EPS12V connector, 23.6” (60 cm) long" ?

And to be honest olivier I don't even think cable ties will sort this out :P
