New computer build.

mm looks like a spacer.....plastic so it not being there isnt gonna stop it running...my one concern would be if it has fallen out of its hole then the thing it was spacing from the psu chassis....may no longer be...erm spaced... risk of shorts and such....but I can't imagine it would be a big risk....

But im no PSU expert

Onward I go then! Thanks :)

Oh and now I no what to do:

Nope,

Fit the stand offs using that Little nut spinner thing and a pozi-drive, fit the I/O sheild plate to the inside of the case the right way up.

Then assemble the motherboard, cpu, ram and heatsink and take this entire assembly to the case and screw in.

Do the front panel connectors, then add the HDD and SSD.

Apply the PSU cables to everything including the 8pin socket near the CPU.

Then add the GPU to the top slot and give it both power leads.

Right thanks very much, I am now going to fit the stand offs. However I am a bit unsure what the difference things are used for below. I believe the top one is to be installed near the CPU socket, is this correct? The middle is the one I think I have to use for the mobo. But what is the bottom one?

Thanks as always!

The top one is the actual spinner to tighten the standoffs, use a screw driver in the end of it.

You have two of the bottom ones? the lip is for securing the movement of the PCB, it will fit neatly into the pcb hole, just place them across the middle either top to bottom across the center.

A..B..C

D..E..F

G..H..I

Is usually how the standoffs are aranged, so you can use the standoffs with the lip in say B/H or D/F

Thanks for the response, yes there are two of them. The case does not even say that! So if I use 6 of the middle ones and two of the bottom ones in either of the configurations that you said, that will be fine?

Thanks very much :)

Also on start up only one bit of ram, no gfx card and only ssd....save what you can should the worst happen i say, wont hurt it as you can add it all after uv turned it off after first startup...

Absolutely fine, only put standoffs where there is a hole on the motherboard.

Hopefully this - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18231861&highlight=startername_stulid - will be some use, its a forum members build I did using the same case and similar stuff.

Guys, I am almost at the part of assembling the CPU and heatsink. I know I already asked about applying the coolermaster thermal paste, supplied with the Hyper 212. But I have just found this article that recommends using a vertical line of paste as oppose to a pea sized amount. What do you guys think is best?

Thanks everyone.
