The 27" iMac has had 4 x slots for at least 3 if not more revisions.

I find it amazing that how many people think first the 27" iMac doesn't have user access to upgrade the RAM and how many thinks it only has 2 slots...

Mine has moved today to "Preparing For Shipment"!!! WOOHOOO!!
Still has the same "Dispatched: 2 - 3 Weeks Delivers 21 Dec, 2012 - 02 Jan, 2013" written right next to it, but imagine that will change soon.
Im thinking it will be dispatched in a day or so and will arrive early next week... and of course I happen to be out of the country till Wednesday!

Just an update, my status has changed to dispatched. I have a UPS tracking number which predicts that'll I receive my iMac on Wed 19th.
If its useful for anyone else to know mine is a 27" i5 2.9, with a 1tb Fusion. Ordered at 10.30am on 30th Nov.
Its seems from the Macrumours 27" uk delivery thread that a lot of built to order machines are shipping first. Good luck to everyone else expecting machines, I hope yours arrive in good time!

I'm going to run both - although it appears bootcamp doesn't work with the 3TB drive yet - so I'll have to wait.
No - not a penny extra to Apple for the RAM, their prices are ludicrous! Left it with the base 8GB spec and bought RAM separately.
Got my shipment notification on Friday - delivery by 21st according to the tracking info - yey

Demo 27" they've got in the Metrocentre looks pretty tasty.... Had feelings of prepurchase justification when I tried it out yesterday. Must resist.

They took the money at point of order, then a few days later it was back in my account... Now it's shipped and the money is still there :-S

Apple will have reserved the money when you placed the order but not actually taken it. The reservation only lasts for five days (which is why it appears they took the money and then returned it). You'll find they'll actually take the money in the next few days. You'll get emailed a billing receipt once they have money.
