New essential Android apps thread

Does anyone know of an app that can increase call volume? The volume when chatting on my Oppo Find 5 has never been the best across a wide range of roms. I know one of my old roms used to have a sound engine to boost calls but it was specific to the rom I used then. If it helps, I am using OmniRom with KitKat at present.

Been trying out a few different music players in effort to find one that natively supports reading track ratings and n7 seems to be the one but it doesn’t support reading the entire SDXC card, only reads 1 folder so I imagine it’s an issue with KitKat SD permissions and the app not being updated to fully support it.

PowerAmp is still the most logical and featured IMO but it doesn’t support standard ratings reading so if I sync over music from my PC (I use MusicBee to play on PC and rate tracks which is readable in any PC player and Windows Explorer). Ratings support has been requested on PowerAmp forums for ages with little movement in this area. Shame as I don’t want to manually rate all my albums again in PowerAmp but I guess slowly it could be done...

Noticed the Facebook messenger app updated today but didn't actually notice what it contained: http://www.androidcentral.com/facebook-messenger-updated-v40-brings-free-wi-fi-calling

A new Facebook Messenger update is rolling through the Google Play Store right now. Listed a v4.0, it features quite few changes over the last update, though some were previously available on the beta. If you weren't part of that, the update brings along groups, forwarding, conversation shortcuts and adds a free calling over Wi-Fi feature.

So free calling over Facebook! Wasn't Whatsapp planning to have this?

EDIT: Gave it a quick test. Seems pretty good. Quality is pretty decent and the calling UI looks nice.

CCleaner is coming to Android!! Still at the Beta stage but should be great when it's properly released.

Optimize - Browser History, Application Cache, Clipboard and more
Clean - Call Logs and SMS messages individually, in bulk, by age or by contact
Reclaim storage space by quickly removing unwanted applications
Monitor your CPU, RAM, storage space and battery levels

Is it just me, or does none of this seems that useful?

Anyone know why my N7 2013 has a swype feature on the stock keyboard whilst my Moto G doesn't? Is there anyway to have this stock swype style typing on the moto g?
