New essential Android apps thread

Got to be honest, I've never known someone wanting to do that. Yes, I would expect there is an app out there that removes the 'rich notification' element, but I'm afraid I don't stray away from Hangouts, so don't know what it would be...

I'll double check next time I get a text, but from what I remember if anyone got hold of my phone and pulled the notification bar down, they'd be able to see any un-read texts I had. This is on the lock screen by the way.

I'm using the Google Keyboard with the xposed module 'Flat Style Keyboard'. Then chose some colours from the Material Design colour palette here :)

Looks clean, hows the predictions? can you swype text? I've always found myself going back to SK.

Prediction is decent, but I think it'll improve after I use it for a bit longer. Yeah you can swype :) I just found swiftkey a bit slow at opening sometimes.

+1 It used to take up to 3/4 seconds sometimes on my one mini m4!

Do you mean that people can pull down the notification bar from the lock screen? I think that only happens if you don't lock the phone with a PIN or anything?

Dynamic status bars is cool, but it annoyed me that it didn't detect the colours from a lot of apps :(

it looks at the pixel just below the bottom left of the status bar and top left of the navbar to theme it. as of yet, the only one that's a bit annoying is bubbleupnp, as when you're in the library the yellow indicator turns the navbar yellow. aside from that, haven't had any app not get themed.

not sure if it's the PA implementation or the omnirom version, but it's working great so far on my rom.

I think I read that the PA version uses the 1 pixel method, but I don't think this xposed module does.

I just installed it again and tested it with whatsapp. It's matched the colour fine, but there's a thin line between the action bar and the status bar.

is that using dsb via xposed? wouldn't bother tbh, i'm getting to the point where i don't want to use xposed at all as it rapes my feeble 1gb of ram (takes it from 300mb available for cache to about 100).

if i didn't need xposed for wake gestures, it'd be gone by now and i'd be on art :p

e: you need themes dude!
