Just put the ram in ddr3_3 to try again and now the restarts happen even quicker, like the pc stays on for a second then restarts..
Yes and it was exactly the same up until the second time I tried it after putting the battery back in. It's restarting a lot quicker now after my second attempt of changing RAM slots. But it was doing this before the attempted CMOS reset?
The first time I put the memory in after the battery reset and all the time before that it would start up, 10 seconds later go off then restart. On the third restart it would appear with the screen I posted above as well as my mouse and keyboard lighting up then it would go round in circles. How long had it been looping/restarting for when you posted the first time you placed the memory in?
Before I noticed your post
The new memory? The very first time it just kept restarting like the first example I gave above (getting to blank screen on 3rd time). I gave it like 2 minutes of doing it before I turned it off.No I mean the very first time you put the memory in - how long did you let it loop for before posting?
I've found someone who had exactly the same problem as you - and he had changed his BIOS from IDE to ACHI and then a few restarts later he had a blue screen with just the UEFI logo
