I'm afraid I can't answer that as I can't see the board - but it's right by the F_Panel Header - so if it is damaged it may have affected that too. But i'm hopeful you've just hiccupped the system by scaring the **** out of it...

It was doing this before I tried the CMOS thing to be fair so hopefully it's fine.

Well before I tried putting the CMOS pins together it was doing the same restart thing as its doing now so nothing has changed.

There's a reset connector there and you don't want loose wires.

OK, we'll presume the BIOS has corrupted.

We'll try and use the BIOS recovery - but i'm getting conflicting info on how to do this - even on the Gigabyte site. So triple checking...
