If he/you wants to get his system back up and running just post on this thread - and we can give it a go. There's a chance that loading optimised defaults, setting the xmp and setting to AHCI - then load the OS onot any available HDD. There's every chance it will be back up and running.
That's a £70 keyboard that he has there too - why is it in the garage?It all depends on what he says. If he does want to buy it I'll go Ryzen. If not I'll probably just buy it and stick with what I have for a bit... Maybe.
He could do the above and sell a fully working system - it will go towards his/your build.
