New Gaming Rig Advice..

By the time I buy a motherboard, a new case and a decent cooler I might as well of gone for the Ryzen build, edging towards that now.

RAM I bought the 1600 MHz so would swap that to the 3000 so that's already basically bought. Looking at around 450.

The i5 3570k and the 8GB of 1600mhz RAM.

Haha I can stretch to afford it, it's an upgrade that would keep me going for a few years so it may be worth it. That's what I'm trying to tell myself anyway :D

Plus the money gained from my brother buying my 7970.

I do want this Ryzen build but I'm struggling to justify my purchase, that's all.

I don't know, you seem to be doing Ok :D

Two for Tuesday.
Aha! Prepared - i bought some DOOMBAR :D - but no take away :/

Haha. I think I'm going to to take the plunge. I think I deserve it after what I've been through the last two weeks :D

TBH, if you weren't having to play the deleted lottery to get a board - i would be trying to talk you out of it. But as it is...

...i'm easy whatever you decide.

Just, sell your stuff to offset the cost.

Yes - 6 cores, 12 threads - best bang for buck for gamers.

INTELS next major mid range CPU release will only have 6 cores so game developers will follow their lead...

EDIT: And it's taken 10 years for developers to start adopting 4 cores :/

Right so my brother is now saying he may want to buy my i5 which I've explained to him he will need to buy a new motherboard. That GA-H55M-UD2H is running out at 8pm and want to make sure it will be ok with my i5 3570k. May go in for it if it stays relatively cheap.

Remember I only ate 6 of those pieces last night?
It's probably got e coli now - I would bin it :D

It will support ivybridge - whether it will straight out of the gates depends on revision/BIOS.

What's it at now? (cooking again - peparroni pizza, upping the ante stulid, with Doombar)

This isn't my knowledge this is what i've found on the web:

GA-Z68AP-D3 (rev. 2.0) - requires BIOS FC 2012/02/21 to run ivybridge (you would need to email seller very quickly)

If it doesn't have this you would require another CPU to flash the BIOS.

Im cooking it right now I'll have you know.
Kudos - did you par boil potatoes or are they really crispy?

I love saute potatoes - just make a massive mess :)

Couldn't I download the bios on to a usb stick from my laptop and just flash it once installed?
Wouldn't post - you would need a sandybridge 2nd gen.

What CPU/socket is your brother's again?
