(obviously install anything you've missed when computer is off)

But if you're ready to go - save and exit and let winodws do it stuff.

Haven't put an ethernet cable in yet, all the case cables are plugged in as far as I'm aware. Not attached anything to PC apart from keyboard and mouse.

But we will need amd chipset drivers and Nvidia drivers so will need ethernet attached.

Dont need it attached during Windows installer do we?

It's given me a choice of which operating system I can install, I've always had Home but is there any advantages in getting Pro or?

No advantage in Pro for your use - plus you don't have a licence for it

Well, that memory was a bitch - and then you had to decide what to do next.

Plus, you've effectively took apart 2 computers, troubleshooted and tested all components, flashed BIOSs and tried every conceivable way to restore another and now built a PC - without ever fully understanding what you're doing at any given time (but suspect you have the knowledge now).

Quite impressive for 59 pages...

Windows installed. I plugged in ethernet. It's checking for updates now on start up.
