@Leprechaun312, thanks a lot for this link. unfortunetly, you were slightly late as i have already arranged a return of the product. Although saying that i do still have them but not the motherboard so cant test :D

Hopefully i should be getting my new pc tomorrow, in which case that will give me enough time to test them using these drivers and then cancel the return if need be!

However, i had already been looking at alternatives. The two headsets i came down to getting now are:

Logitech g930
Creative Sound Blaster Recon 3D and Omega Wireless Headset

After looking at various youtube videos, i think the creative one looks like it can work with both my pc and AV Receiver for the xbox/ps3.

However, im not to sure on the audio quality between the two! The creative one comes with its own USB sound card that can be used with the consoles aswell. But to be honest PC gaming is my main priority to get right, hence id prefer a headset with the best surround sound audio quality for pc out of the two choices!

Really sorry for the lack of updates since recieving the system! Been a hectic bank holiday weekend.

Unfortunetly, i thought i was going to be in all weekend and have plenty of time to play with my new PC, but it was quite the opposite. I only managed to get a few hours on it and also ran into some problems.

The build is great, PC looks awesome (pics to come soon promise!).

For some reason, (it might have been something that i accidentally installed) my graphics card kept crashing even while on the desktop, i looked online at the message i was getting and tried all the solutions that worked for others. Unfortunetly nothing worked for me, hence i did a complete reinstall of windows!

After that, i installed all drivers, (in the boxes i got no cd drivers for the motherboard so did from online) after this the first thing i did was create a Backup image of the drive.

Then i installed far cry 3 and had a play and it was all working fine and also looking amazing.

The PC is really quite, although sometimes i do get a humming noise like something is stuck in the fan ?! I havnt had a closer look yet but will monitor over next few days/weeks.

Oh yeah, my Turtle Beach Tango headset worked right out of the box with the onboard sound card. I didnt have to install anything. Hence, as i don't need a seperate sound card to make them work im going to keep this headset now.

Haha, no i didnt actually build the system myself - it was built by over clockers. I did add a second hard drive manually though, that was done pain free :D
 
Hi Guys,

A few problems im having.

1. When i plug in my speakers into USB slot (tried them all) for power to the speakers, im getting static noise coming out from the speakers. I have tried muting them and also setting the volume to 0 and disabling them in settings. However static is still there.
If i plug usb power into power socket in plug then it works fine, but lights stay on all the time even when pc is off, which is why i need to power from pc instead.

I have also tried them with my macbook and they power fine with no static coming. Its like there's some interference or too much power coming to usb slots in my pc?!?

2. My case has 4 usb slots on the top/front panel, 2 usb2.0 and 2 usb3.0, the usb3.0 slots work fine, however both the usb2.0 slots are not working!

1. that unfortunately is just a problem with the usb socket giving the headset too much power, i have a logitech keyboard with a usb port on it, so it provides enough power to power the headset and removes the static..well most of the static.

2. the usb headers might not have been plugged in, when you plug anything into them does windows make the noise or does nothing happen? if nothing happens then the cable that runs from the usb socket to the motherboard hasn't been plugged in.

...sigh i did a price reduction on the members market i think 21 hours after i originally posted and not the full 24 hours so they "suspended" me for 2 days....eh i didn't think to read the all the rules

Hi,

My keyboard has two usb outputs, one for the keyboard and one for the extender of the usb slot on the keyboard. However, when i use this usb extender slot on my keyboard i still get the same static noises!

How can i stop the usb slot on my pc to not give too much power?

Tbh, I would probably send them back and get something like these. I had a similar problem years ago but use logitech or edifier now, better quality even on the budget systems.

the problem is not the budget, even if these splash speakers were in around £100 i would still get them. Just because of the look. Im not going to be using speakers a lot anyway im just having them on occasaionlly and the water effect on these are mind blowing.

PLus they work on everything else apart form this PC i got, even macbook pro retina powers them fine through usb without static!"!

Do you have the same problem(static) with the USB ports on the mobo?

I initially hoped to have my PC on the left of my desk against the wall so its 'safer' but I currently have my PC on the right hand edge of my desk, it is way too heavy for me to worry about it getting knocked off. I would have to give it a very forceful and long shove :p

Not sure on your decision on the speakers though. I would be surprised if the sound quality is anything better than 'so awful it makes your ears bleed'. :rolleyes:
Music will sound awful, and gameplay sounds will sound pretty weak with no depth or impact... Kind of like using inbuilt PC monitor speakers really :D
