New iPod??

8gb nano looks very tempting, but why all the crappy memory sizes. 8gb is very small, 80gb is a lot. Why couldn't they make a ~40gb one? :(

Does anyone know the exact difference in size between the nano and the classic?
 
I'll be ordering nothing. Only had my 5.5 30gig for a few months. (it's even still got the front protective film on it). So far I've only filled about 30% of it. Just deciding if my next purchase is more PC upgrades or an N95.

If you are going for an N95 - hold off for the N95 8gb coming out in Q4 - its got a bigger screen, bigger battery and better slider. Or in October the N81 might tickle your fancy if the N95 does (and it has a touch senstitive wheel type thing).

mmmm iPod Touch is sexeh! :D

Considering my old 1GB shuffle runs all my on-the move music needs atm, I think it would be overkill atm though :/

I must admit the ipod touch looks nice but for the price @ 16gig it's a definite no no, I've had my 3rd gen from release day, I love the weight and styling of it the best out of all the players, I was never a great fan of the new click wheel, I recently changed the battery in mine so touch wood if I look after it it will keep me going for a few more years yet.

My thoughts exactly.

You dont get a Dock, Remote, Case, Charger or any of the cool things anymore...

I replaced the battery on mine and it lasts for ages now!

Right think I'm going to get 8gb Touch.I realistically only listen to about 2gb or less worth of music so that means I have 6gb left for videos which I think will do me fine BUT I keep thinking for only £70 more I can get a 16gb one...:(

You get a stand and polishing cloth with the touch at least. :)
I'll be buying the 16Gb Touch in October from Florida for $400 (£200), bless Apple for international warranty.

16GB is more than enough for me, I barely manage 8Gb on my current iPod and I could easily cut that down to 5Gb or less, I didn't wanna get the 8Gb Touch because I would definately go over that with a few TV shows put on there.
 
Does anyone know when the ipod Touch will be instore in London?I don't think I can wait till 28th September for it to start shipping as I'm off to Uni on the 22nd and won't be back home until end of October.
 
Just ordered a 160GB black iPod Classic :)

Will probably get the iPhone when it's out, so can't really see myself with the Touch (the confusion!) and I need the storage for all my Lossless music.

Indeed, couldn't agree more. I'm also mourning the loss of firewire as the 160Gb version would have made a cracking backup drive.

Everything since the 3G has lost focus - lots of added extras like photos, video etc but the audio quality has dropped and you need to spend extra's on the accessories to make it useable.
