New iPod??

I'm going to Bluewater on Sunday, hopefully they will have some new ones in. If not, I will order of the tinternet and wait for delivery... But i'm too impatient.

If anyone goes to an Apple store anywhere with them in stock, let me know.

I didn't know this, so what happens to line out for the ipod speaker docks etc, taken from the regular headphone out with volume regulation etc??

Nice news on the crystal dac, should put quality back up...
apparently that was actually an Apple messup (like the bluetooth one), not sure about the dac one either :o.

Go to the apple website and watch the iPod Touch video, a smug looking man explains it all in great depth.

The iPod touch has a wireless chipset inside it, similar to what you'd find in a laptop. If you have a wireless router at home or in the office you can connect to the Internet through that. Some cafes, pubs and train stations have wireless routers too although you generally have to pay to use these.

Except Starbucks.. here's a nice integration thing they have going on if you live in a metro city in the US. How quick that gets rolled out to the UK/other countries isn't indicated.
They'd be nuts not todo the same in Asia Pac as soon as possible..

Who cares about this starbucks crap. Its really pointless, They would be better off giving iPhone and Touch users free wifi internet than this rubbish.

yeah it pretty pointless but when, like me, you live in starbucks half the time it's a cute feature. It might make it to london before 2009 if we're lucky I guess. Still, yes, I agree, completely free wifi in starbucks for touch/iphone customers would have been great...

Wait. So you're saying that you're going to allow me to spend money in the iTunes store without charging an upfront entrance fee to browse it? Wowow!! THANK YOU, STEVE!!!! :D

it has a higher pixel density, its the highest quality screen on an ipod so far.

The higher pixel density is because the screen is smaller. I.e. to fix the same number of pixels on one screen as a smaller screen it needs a higher pixel density, that means its the same quality in a smaller package, not higher quality than the classic.

Good man.

Dunno whether to get the 160Gb or 80Gb.

Gonna work out how much space all my albums will take in apple lossless. 400mb per album?

Josh
Yeah.. It's supposedly just over half of the original (600MB?) so I usually say 400MB per album just to cover things :)

Only reason I rip to lossless now is because it all goes through my amp via AirTunes and I can't handle the drop in quality.

Buying the classic means I can keep the lossless with me on the move.. so it's win win!!

Right, I've gone and done it. :D

Got £50 off a 4GB Silver iPod Nano from a high-street retailer. at £79.99 it makes it cheaper than Apples refurbished version of the same model!

Panzer

Can anybody confirm whether or not the Nike+ Kit will still work with the new Nano or will I need to hang on to my 2G Nano if I upgrade?

Yeah it will work, Steve jobs said at the event that it will.

Edit:

Apple site said:
