New iPod??

I really do wish the ipods used solid state memory even if it were much less. amount of grief I have had from portable hdds is enough to make me think twice.
They should do a large and small capacity version because anything over 20/40gig just wont get used in my situations.

The iMac was the same date so I would have thought it would be the same for iPods.

I think it isn't to 6pm GMT again like the last event though :(

They never stream them. Which is a shame. Engadget has a live text stream, with photos, which is always fun.

I'd be very suprised if they had them out tonight. Best wait until the event is over. They usually give some kind of time frame at it!

They stick em on their site very soon afterwards though don't they?

I'm sure they streamed the iPhone one! Could be wrong though.

Can't see it happening tonight, I reckon they'll be available online tonight though.

Yeah. They usually go on-line the day after, but sadly they never do them live. I imagine the bandwidth for that would have to be immense!

Hopefully, although nothing beats the feeling of walking out of a store with a box in your hands, so I'll be waiting until I can get one at the Trafford Centre!
 
Thinking about it I am not too sure now - The iphone isnt out here yet - a new ipod touch available in the UK may cannibalise iphone sales. What do you think - there could be potential for an iphone UK announcement? - Its is Q4 after all.. (mind you the chances are limited due to no leaks of this news.)

Usually products are available straightaway online after an announcement - but thats in the US. Ah well not long to wait anyway!

I read somewhere it is expected 4 products to be released.

iPod Touch
iPod Nano
iPod Shuffle
iPhone

makes sense to me :)

Not enough storage space on the iphone - now if it was the same size as the current iphone, same features and 120gb, then we'd be talking!:p

If an ipod touch comes out, I wont get an iphone - wont be needed really - the N81/N95 8gb will cover that piece of kit.
 
Anyone fancy ringing an Apple Store after the even finishes (assuming they're open at that time) to enquire about the new iPod availability? :)
