I am really hoping for some sort of update today. I only pre-ordered on the 14th and really need to know if my order will be sent in the first batch or if I'll have to wait another month.

So I called OCUK again and the person on the phone said they'll arrive within a week, then I mentioned that they said the same thing on Monday and he said "so yeah within a week from Monday"...it really seems that OCUK doesn't know anything and I don't get why the supplier wouldn't tell them when to expect it if said supplier has already dispatched it...
It would be nice if @NikTheSHNIK could stop by this thread and give us an update.

That was not my question. The question was if g-sync could be used with overdrive. That is rare on a non g-sync module aka freesync monitor. Far as I know only one freesync compatible monitor can do that. Or else you need a g-sync module to game with VRR+ OD!
You're confusing using OD with Freesync and Variable Overdrive, there's nothing stopping a Freesync monitor using Overdrive with VRR; the difference with G-SYNC is it tunes the amount of OD per refresh rate.

Staff told me they are arriving this week would like some input on this
Okay so there are some EU stores starting to ship them 1st of August going to contact them to confirm they have stock, okay so I can confirm German retailer will be selling the 27GL850 from 1/08/2019 for € 579,00 + shipping, its a little bit more expensive and will come with german plug, but not hard to get around that.. So far it seems to be available Netherlands, Germany and Poland. Well Germany from tomorrow

The hubs are in the Netherlands for shipping companys bringing in freight over the water. Not surprising really that those geographically closest with no transport bottlenecks, like more ports/airports or swapping the goods between freight companies, see their stock first.
That mainland Europe have them now is a great sign they'll be with us next week!
The ETA I've had hasn't changed since the last update from LG. So fingers crossed they are on the water to us.

I was told Monday by staff that they would be here this week also Alice said they have landed in the UK
Good news then, won't be long!
I'll chase the distributor and make sure they ship them to us as soon as they receive them!

And by then I have a hard time belive this LG, actually does it. As said it's only one monitor I have heard that will do just that - OD per refresh rate!

Against forum rules to mention competitors sorry but a quick search will find them easily
It seems by initial impressions the LG is at least on par with the likes of the ASUS with its second fastest OD setting (fast) for response time without visible overshoot, it will just be interesting to see if with a G-SYNC module in the 38GL950G it'll be tuned to make use of its fastest OD capabilities (fastest setting) without the overshoot present on the 27GL850 when it uses it.Ahh yeah correct. If you call them you can make arrangments though, I won't be getting mine this week and month of delays and excuses means I'm out, the short warranty always bothered me anyway

Just wonder which other UK Retailers will stock this and when.
The LG product page for this on the UK site seems to flag up a well known store when you click on the 'Where to Buy'

The panels won't land this week, I'm willing to bet that from the general pattern I'm seeing over the last few weeks on this thread. One staff member says one thing and another says another, then you have the LG rep saying they're in the country since Monday, in any case, I've waited too long, I'll take a trip into the capital this weekend and hopefully see something I like. I originally preordered the LG at the start of July and have seen nothing but pushbacks and uncertainty and I honestly need a panel as I have to return this one to work as its just a loaner from when I sold my other to pay for the LG. It is what it is, don't get your hopes up for this week, if your lucky maybe the end of next week at the earliest I'd say.
Can't say I share your same pessimism, but seeing as my graphics card got delayed too the wait has been easier on me. With Dan he did used to say it would take up to a week from when it arrived at their warehouse to get through distributors to reach OcUK, so I can't see it reaching OcUK later than Monday next week.
