** NEW LG MONITORS - INCLUDING 2 EXCLUSIVE TO OCUK!!! **

Yeah i've got a 2515H at the moment and it's more or less perfect.

So why do the LG ones look good and the rest just look trash? It's weird?
Better quality control, not to say that LG doesnt have their share of issues, they do but just not as frequent, besides the best thing about the ultrasharps is that Dell will just keep sending you a panel until your happy and they do it fast.

Shame Dell haven't gone down the IPS route for gaming monitors!

So I've got 3 units today of 27" GL-850-B:

If anyone intrested in black uniformity ( blb/ips glow ) on these, I've tried my best to reproduce what's seen on the screen with DSLR camera and it's pretty close to what's visible ( maybe slightly more pronounced on photos still ):

It's really good in my opinion and so far I'm definitely keeping the units.

A short tl;dr with couple hours usage,
- Fastest profile is literally bad and unusable, creates a lot of inverse ghosting and it just look epicly bad
- Fast however is very pleasing, I am coming from 144hz 1ms TN panel and while LG is not 1ms panel and I need to get used to it, it's very sharp and crisp, overall any type of motion feels solid without ghosting effects.
- White uniformity looks good as well, I did not notice anything major in white balance.

Still need a time with it, but so far i am VERY pleased with all 3 of them.

The big Q is - is it any faster then the awesome PG279Q :)
I doubt it will be as you cant use g-sync + overdrive, right ?

I have had several ultrasharp panels ver the years that used lg panels in them and zero complaints.

It seems that, using the sRGB mode, basically everything except the brightness is locked. Is this correct?
This is a deal breaker for me, as everything at the moment works in sRGB and not with a wide gamut.

The good news with BLB then.
Where did you buy them from?
Are they slower than TN in your opinion?

Poland, Morele.net had 20 units of them on saturday, by monday all were sold. Quite suprised tbh, we rarely get **** first and actually decently priced ( was around 490 euro~ each ).

In FPS'es I can "maybe" feel slight more blur vs TN at least that was my initial impression, maybe it's Size/Res/IPS upgrade, I'm not sure yet, still have to play a bit more to get a good feeling of the motion. But I don't think I wanna go ever back to TN seeing the IPS colors <3
Because that motion/ghosting feels like something I can get used to, but then again I'm not much competetive in FPS'es, I do play them tho.

Yes. Sadly sRGB locks you down to choosing brightness only.

Alright, then it seems like it's probably NOT faster (pixel transition) then PG279Q, as that one is so far the fastest IPS, only slightly behind the best TN's!

Btw, thats really awesome, that you actually can use g-sync with overdrive :)
Thats very rare for a non g-sync module monitor!

I'm actually annoyed, the ocuk exclusivity was just a farce, I have seen several people from various different parts across Europe post their experiences with this monitor, I feel like those of us that foolishly preordered here have been done dirty, if it turns out that I won't be receiving mine this week I'm cancelling my preorder purely out of principal. I don't like been messed around, this is a bad showing on LG's behalf. Really feels like LG just wanted to pull a Nintendo/Intel/Amd and just release a limited quantity purposely to create a false hype and demand. I just want a panel that's decently fast and not suffering terribly qc like I went through with literally every other popular panel I have tried. For that panel to reach me this week it will need to be shipped tomorrow, if that's not happening I'm pulling out, I 100% will never preorder again though that's for sure. I've always had good experiences with OCUK, this is disappointing but then it's not their fault its LG's, I don't buy that factory excuse either, not after seeing so many European retailers selling them.

edit seems the 1ms is unusable https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/cjre41/lg_27gl850b_review_and_first_impressions/

They did say "UK exclusives"... I don't know if you're suggesting other UK retailers have it, but if they're in Europe, well, that isn't in the UK.

Well said.

Does this now have a knock on effect for the next batch too? Wasn't it four weeks after the first lot?

So is that still the case? Which means the next lot won't be here until September!?

The lack of Comms or explanations hasn't helped either
