New Man Utd Manager Search

the media will say a different person is favourite every day, got to get them clicks.

true, controversial take I know but Simeone is more appealing than Poch

No, don't think so. Think they want to talk to him but as it's world cup year he wouldn't ditch Spain.

that's what I thought, hope we don't get him either way as I don't think it would work

Not sure banishing a player who's coming back from a serious injury is exactly what any team needs tbh. Obviously something 'may' have gone on that we're not being told but if it's like being made out here then ETH is completely in the wrong, yes Utd need to be ruthless getting rid of deadwood but this article is not painting ETH in a good light with man management skills, I'm fairly sure if it was a regular 1st teamer it would've been different than with a fringe player who hasn't hardly played

To be fair, it also mentioned another player who also returned that was kept on. If anything it just sounds like a player who wasn't good enough and trying to spin it as ETH being unfair. The fact that he's gone on loan to a Croatian league team doesn't suggest he's overly capable!

Whilst I do agree the part he states he asked to speak with ETH several times for an answer and was blanked (even says Marc Overmars said it was managers decision) is poor, at least tell the guy he isn't capable or whatever rather than ignore all attempts to speak with him.
Not sure Utd will have a team left if he blanks everyone who he feels is too big for their boots, you can't field Phil Jones in all 11 positions (wish you could it'd be like a Benny Hill skit!!)

God no, I would take anybody else. Plays dire defensive football, encourages a bunch of cheaters. he's like Mourinho but worse.

does he play dire football because he wants to or because he has to get the best of the team?

Sounds like what each manager has already done with Donny...

Simeone is not appealing, even less appealing than Poch.

ETH I don't even know if he is better or not to be honest.

if you swap Poch and Simeone you think Atletico would be better off?

Go and have a look at that Atletico team and tell me they couldn't play more attacking football. They play that way because its how Simeone wants to play. They have some fantastic players in that side. Flair players.

What  He's been there over a decade of course he's playing the football he wants to be playing.

from I what I hear on espn FC, they say he sets the team that way to compete as best as they can.

This. Anyone who entertains Simeone as a United manager wants their bumps feeling. He's the definition of anti football. Horrible team.

Can't help but feel that taking on this squad is as much a poisoned chalice as succeeding fergie.

Needs cast iron guarantees that he's going to have the time and money to have a clear out.

Happy to take 2-3 years to compete for anything as long as we are building something that can compete in the long term. I think a proper manager with a proper staff should be able to salvage something from this current squad and with a couple of years of savvy spending we would be fine. Still a lot of ifs of course.

RR was probably not the right man to take over in the interim in hindsight. Not necessarily elite level manager and couldn't bring in a good team around him due to it being mid season. Not sure what other options would have allowed us to do what we are doing though and fingers crossed RR will go upstairs and do a good job. I want to like the club I support again. That would be a nice start.
