DDG is a top keeper and I wouldn't be looking to get rid. I'd say the issue is maybe more having Henderson on the bench for £5m a year, he won't be happy and costing a lot of money.
Pobga just seems so high maintenance, I know he's very high potential but I've also seem some bang average performance and not completely convinced by his attitude. Rather than offering him a £20m wage or whatever I would just let him leave.
Martial I would get on the transfer list, hasn't ripped up many trees in Seville by all accounts.

We really shouldn't have let Sergio Romero go.

I really liked Romero and he was always good for us and never caused any issues.

The problem is that hes massively lacking in the areas that almost all the best teams prioritise in a keeper nowadays. If we were not paying him £375k/week that might be OK but we are.

High maintenance isn't really the word. Hes just a luxury player. He works for France because they have the team around him to compensate and international football is slower paced. Oh and he actually cares when he plays for France.

Hes a 9/10 players 1/10 games, a 7+/10 player 3/10 and a 4/10 player the rest of the time. Lazy, undisciplined, self involved and far too injury prone. He should have been let go years ago. Much like some of our other "star" players though he is social media gold and that buys him the luxury of not giving any ***** when he plays.

Hes got an attitude problem. Always has had. Similar vein to Lukaku in that he will have periods of being really good but unless you can keep watering his ego and everything is going his way he very quickly gives up and starts sulking. Another one that we should have cut our losses on years ago.

I'm not sure if Woodward was just petrified of selling our flair players incase they suddenly started performing elsewhere and people laughed at him but none of our players that lose form every seem to regain it. Expensive luxury players haven't done well for United over the past decade.

People are already laughing at you, clubs need to be looking to how they improve moving forward not worrying about missed opportunities. Arsenal cast aside two of their biggest flair players in Ozil and Aubameyang, as expected Auba is amongst the goals again, but you just have to treat that as water under the bridge and focus on the players you think are going to deliver for the club.

MU have done it before, they sold Beckham, Ronaldo, Memphis, ADM etc all big flair players who to some extent put in good performances after leaving at new clubs. You can kind of remove Ronaldo because that wasn't really a case of casting off an underperformer. Doesn't mean it was necessarily the wrong move, heck even situations like Chelsea letting Salah and KDB go on the cheap you just have to get on with it, Chelsea still won the Champions League recently despite having cast off arguably the two best flair players of the past 5 years in the EPL.

Three Pogba saga has to be in some of the worst business in United's history, release on free, buy back for 90 mill, release again on free. Epitome of the last 10 years.

Theres no point trying to rationalise these things when it comes to United and the football side of things. Some of their decisions make more sense when you think of them as marketing tools.

Most of the players that leave and suddenly come good were just not putting in the effort and its pretty clear thats the case. Auba is a prime example. He just treated Arsenal like a sugar daddy and didn't care about them. He thought he was above them. Gone to Barca where the club is bigger than his ego and magically hes back in form. I have no sympathy for these sort of players and every club should get rid of them as soon as possible.

I think that more and more, player personalities and histories will be used when deciding if a player is a good fit for a club. I think that Liverpool and Klopp are very good at seeing players who have the right mentality. Its literally the number one deciding factor on whether a player will be a success at a club. They can be the best player in the world but if they don't want to be there and there are no repercussions for their malaise then they won't perform and will not only not perform but they will probably negatively impact the whole squad and team.

It needs pretty much the entire squad to be gutted. The whole place needs an entire culture reset.

I would keep.

DDG
Lindelof
Varane
Phil Jones
Mctominay
Fernandes
Sancho
Ronaldo (Purely for his work ethic)
Fred
Luke Shaw
Telles

Get rid. Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lingard, Wan Bisaka, Maguire, Mata, Cavani, Dalot.

Rashford and maybe AWB have a chance to stay but it all depends whether they can be bothered to fight for it.

You also have the Greenwood situation. We really missed him this season it has to be said. I think he will be back however as horrible as it was money talks and football is football. Suarez was a blatant cheat and racist but he still played.

Is this a wind-up post lolz :-)

DDG is a top 'shot-stopper'.
I do not think he is a great all-round keeper though.
Doesn't come off his line and command his area like a top keeper should.
Could be one reason why the defence are all over the place, he does not command confidence like he should.

It hurts me saying that, as I have always been pro-DDG, but after watching him most games = it is the truth.

Sancho has been one of the few highlights in a team that has no soul or work ethic. He's shown moments of absolute class and his ability to be calm, move past people and find others in the box is something we don't have from our other plays. Next year is still a grace period to adjust to higher tempo under ETH and then in 24 I would expect him to start to perform consistently.

Fred is someone I never thought I'd say we could keep, however when he's been pushed forward from the DM role he's been arguably the best player on the pitch, his touches and quick play have been unreal, that AM game was nuts... showing for me that with confidence and a team comfortable on the ball he could shine.

DDG might have his fault with his passing out from the back but he's a great shot stopper and he absolutely cares about this club, he's the only true leader on that pitch for me. I was hoping Fernandes could be but his antics are appalling and that's just not what I look for from a captain and someone to show the way to the rest of the squad.

Which Sancho have you been watching?

The one that doesn't make the England squad or some fantasy Sancho?

As for it taking 2 years for an 80m player to become consistent only in his 3rd year which would be most of his contract at £350k a week, where he is paid more than pogba, varane and 99 % of the squad its just madness what you are suggesting.

Yes

And don't tell me big money signing blah blah its just a lie. We basically bribed a mercenary who has maybe no desire to be here, no spirit no heart and zero return for the outlay.

Felix cost Atletico €126 million in a transfer fee, while he is reportedly on an annual salary of €3.5m (€67,000 per week).13 Feb 2022

Sancho will cost us over £164m over 5 years including his wages.

Felix will despite costing more up front will cost £124m over 5 years.

He scored 9 in his first and double figures in his second and third seasons in a team that plays ultra defensively.

Vlahovic who just signed for Juve for 66m is on £112k per week.

Come on Sanchoooo

Boring.

No player has done well this season. Sancho has shown signs of his ability and you can see how well he played at Dortmund as further evidence. Plenty of instances of players who took time to come good - Salah being one.

Anyway, not sure what this has to do with the new manager...

Is it realistic to expect 10 players to leave all in one go.

Its not usually but we have quite a few contracts expiring and fingers crossed Ronaldo doesn't want to spend his last year or 2 not playing in the CL and agrees to leave. If we can sell a few more players then it will be 9 or 10 out and probably 5 in.
