that was my catchphraze which i ended up getting kicked off markers server for :confused: good times :D

ealry times in dayz were good and some great gameplay but...

with a lot of the changes coming it should be great again what killed dayz fun was server tools admin abuse and obviously it getting more popular.

i can honestly say there is not many servers which i have ever been on which haven't not used the admin tools to there advantage.

atleast all that will be locked for standalone thank god ! fair play again should be epic fun like it originally was. not long now !
 
Lol DE4... Yup, never ever went near Cherno or Electro on that server. Was a dead cert you'd get one shotted!

Remember my first run, was night time and the moon was bright enough to see. 4 of us slowly sneaking into Zelenegosk with a team mate in the tree line with NVG's on. I'd previously found an MP5SD so was taking out the Z'ds as we went in (of course speaking all army like - Tango down :D )... So many epic moments in Dayz, heart racing and total shock horror!

Hope stand alone brings back this great game play!

Any body know where Stand alone's time slot is at E3!

Said it before and I'll say it again, the standalone won't reach the hype the original mod had.

True but more people will play the game due to it being easier to install and I know many of our clan members will go for standalone that didn't play the mod.

more people will buy standalone than original mod .keep the rose tinted glasses on though :p how commercial they go with it could be where it loses itself.

i actually like the original mod early version better i like some of the stupid bugs i think it kinda adds to the querkyness.

atleast the latest patch 1.7.7 is going in the right direction now :cool:
 
Ah good old DE4!

It was a bit of a nightmare to admin the server. The official rules to follow brought in this "admin abuse" mentality that is still in arma today. Even kicking/banning someone for breaking one of the rules brought in so much "omg admin abuse" which then everyone started doing. Things like if the server crashes and restarted can't be helped but the amout of tears it caused was amazing.

I agree that it was an awesome amount of fun back in day. I remember that run from Cherno with the nothing but the parts for the helicopter in my bag making my way up to Pebeda damn or whatever it was called!

Also that feeling when you either found a campsite or when you login and find all your stuff gone or in the process of being looted and driven away in a ural away from you!

Shame all the script kiddie and cod players came and turned it into a deathmatch. Stand alone will have to be very, very good with features for promoting more team play for me to even consider it. At the moment though, not even interested.

they adopted early had many off here to get popular if truth be known a lot got kicked or banned and there was some over strict admins the popularity dwindled and anyone could set up a dayz server.

then he found out about wastelands mod and they mostly focused on that which most of us played before on a russian server.

as with any gaming server you need to be first on the scene you need to have the knowledge to populate a server , a community (here ) and skills to do updates and manage well.

with how standalone is most admin stuff locked off anyone will be able to run a server no dedi knowledge really needed just a simple panel so its just a case of running it well getting it populated and pimping your server and keeping it fun.

will be interesting seeing 150 people on dayz standalone server :eek: :p
