** NEW SAMSUNG 750D & 950D True 120Hz LED Monitors - PRE-ORDER! **

Just to reiterate - these have been in very short supply and very difficult to reviewers to get hold of. It seems that Samsung and PR teams are finally getting some of these so I hope to see some more reviews towards the end of this year. A review of the S27A750D will be published tomorrow and a 950D model in the not too distant future. I would expect the S23A700D to be a more widely reviewed model once it's properly released which could give people a good indication of what to expect from the technology.

Can anyone tell me what overclockers RMA is like?

As if this monitor has backlight bleed all over the place I will want to send it back. Will ocuk send someone to pick it up or will I have to foot the bill?

Edit: Would backlight even be covered under RMA or would I have to send it back under the distance seller regulation?

When I wanted to send mine back and try a replacement, they said it wasn't faulty, so I said that instead I wanted to send it back under DSR, they said I couldn't as it was a month ago when I bought it.
I explained to them that it was a preorder and that I'd only had the monitor a few days. They begrudgingly agreed to accept the item back, however I had to arrange and pay for delivery myself. It was my first time ever sending anything back so I had no idea which delivery company to use or anything. I emailed ocuk and asked for advice, they more or less told me that it wasn't their problem.

Compare this with another etailer I used, bought an IPS panel, tried it out, didn't like it, contacted them, they sent a van to pick it up, refunded me in full including delivery cost! No questions asked, fantastic customer service :o

So, in short, no, they won't consider that a fault and you'll have to send it back under DSR and you'll have to arrange and pay for that yourself.

Manage to have a check on this mate?

Sorry, really busy ATM, I'll do it once if I manage to get the work finished. Hopefully today ;)

Re OcUK RMA. Their RMA department needs a lot of improvement.

But very very few companies Will pay for delivery as they don't have to for DSR.

Courier company, MAKE SURE THEY ALLOW YOU TO INSUREOMITORS AGAINST DAMAGE!!!!

Try parcel monkey or parcel2go.

That's a slight problem I have with OcUK as far as their handling of DSR goes. Other online retailers (not all, but some of the more reputable ones) will arrange a courier and subsidise the insurance side of things for monitors. They will get this sorted for you and it will end up costing around £10 and no more. Kraven - if you are particularly picky about backlight bleed-through and uniformity I would suggest you try the S27A750D if that appeals (and you have DisplayPort). Don't expect perfection but the stand design puts less stress on the bottom of the monitor and as a result the SA750 series seems to be superior in this department. It's a bit of a lucky dip with all monitors in this department but I'd say more so with the SA950 than others.

Could you pm the companies you had success with please before I make my final decision. I'll probably stick with OC as they were good when I had trouble with a PC part years and years ago just have to hope they will be just as good with this.

The 950 stand has grown on me and that is the one I want but what's bothering me most is that for such expensive monitors I shouldn't have to worry about this.

I thought the 700D's weren't 120hz, I wouldn't upgrade for anything that wasn't 120hz. I'm still using a CRT for FPS gaming. But I would love to switch to a good 1920*1080 LCD monitor.

As for new models, I haven't heard of any new models, just rumours in a few threads, not just from samsung but other companies as well. Like some of the other 120hz monitors have been out for over a year. Isn't time for these other companies to have a refresh?

I just want the perfect monitor :p

Thanks everyone for this forum it has helped me greatly with deciding on a monitor. It eventually became the 23a700d.

EDIT: Plus the foot is completely different from the 750 models.

Just to make things clear: The s23a700d IS available now. I will receive one tomorrow. This is the exact same as the 23a750d but it does NOT contain DP. Just DVI-D and HDMI. So it is capable of 3d 120 hz etc. And it is available. I will post experiences in a few days.

Well i still not got my Samsung 950D sorted, I was incorrectly sent the 750D :/

RMA'd it last night and got a few responses today - (Cant do it on the phone?) anyway... it isnt sorted so now I have to wait till tomorrow for any more news

One thing I dont understand is why do I have to RMA it, its not faulty or broken, I was just sent the wrong model, surely they just send out the one I ordered and pick up the wrong one??

Also, I notice the Samsung 950D has gone up in price, I ordered this at a lower price I assume I still get it at the price I bought it at, when I ordered it!?

I presume they'll just get yours and give you a new one. it's an RMA so their systems understand it
