** NEW SAMSUNG 750D & 950D True 120Hz LED Monitors - PRE-ORDER! **

I just played Starcraft 2 in 3D for the first time. It was also amazing!

The units looked like actual miniatures on my screen, you know like warhammer type models? Only moving with awesome looking bullets (looked so real!).

Also, when attacking protoss buildings when they still have the shield on them looks fantastic. You see the bullets hit the shield and it just gives such "WOW  " effect lol

I'm thinking of getting one of these for console and PC gaming and my 360 is one of the ye olde component only models (which must be a damn rare thing these days considering how often they crap out) - is there any way I can use it with this monitor?

Afraid not mate. The only other cable you can use with that version of the xbox is the VGA cable you can get for it, unfortunately there is no VGA port on these monitors and an adapter (VGA to DVI for example) will not work as the monitor only accepts digital input where the VGA output is analogue.

I know this because i'm in the same position with a non-hdmi xbox and have looked for a solution myself.

The only way is to buy an analogue to digital converter and a VGA to DVI adapter. These converters are not cheap though and not worth it imo. It would be cheaper to trade in your xbox and buy a HDMI one.

Furthermore, to quote a section of the conclusion to our S27A750D review:

"...result was a vivid display of colour and purity comparable to the Apple LED Cinema Display we had used very recently and certainly went beyond the usual expectations for a TN panel monitor. Whilst colour consistency was restricted by the usual viewing angle limitations of the TN panel technology the shifts here seemed somewhat less pronounced than usual for a screen of this size. Contrast and uniformity was also excellent".

If i bought a display port to DVI adaptor and purchased the 750D, will that give me 120hz? my graphics card doesnt have a display port.

Hi Forum,
Next week I'm going to buy new screen. Thinking of S23A750D for SLI 580 (with DP). I'm interested just in 2D 120 Hz. Is this monitor worth extra £150 comparing to Asus 236?

Thank you.

Just thought I would update this, had my 950d now for a few days and gaming on this is immense. 120hz and the colours are way better than I anticipated.

I can't see any noticeable backlight issues either so I am a happy camper!

Asked and answered several times (don't blame you for not finding this though :p). The stands are an integral part of the monitor, contain most of the electronics and can not be removed. Even if they could be removed VESA mounting would not be possible as the monitors are too thin and don't provide any space for the VESA screws.

What do you mean have to do? You are comparing apples and oranges there. The Hazro monitors are brilliant in their own right (if you get a good one). I take it you are a fan of glossy screens and wanted something that was 27" and would give you a good image and general performance in games? Yeah you're right the options are sadly limited at the moment when it comes to that. The HP 2711x is also a very good monitor and is relatively affordable (only 60Hz and 'only' a TN panel) but for some reason HP decided only Americans would be interested in it. :)

Based on what I read on here people were recommending the Samsungs or Hazros for 27" monitors. Samsung was my first choice, but if I can't mount them on my desk stands then they are out of the question, and my choice defaults to the Hazros.
