** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

I also have flickering with the g9 latest firmware. It is always in the middle sightly to the left, a black bar appears and disappears

Yep I get that too, but it's sporadic. The only time I can make it happen is Dirt Rally 2.0 pause screen, other than that it just happens randomly.

Yup exactly same.. because so many people have this, i don't think im going to RMA it as its 2 weeks for the monitor to be returned and probably will have the same problem.

Really hope the upcoming 4K variant with HDR 1000, will be free of that flicker!
Have a CX to loan right now and hate it. Tested 3 C9's earlier and last CX 55. And even on this I loan as am waiting for my Q70T, to be replaced. I got the same ugly VRR g-sync flicker on this 48 CX

Neiter on the Q90T and Q70T, there was absolutely none. IMO that OLED is just overhyped POS that besides all OLED issues - banding as hell and flicker on them all; one also - sooner or later Will get burn in. Just have the tech is. I happily take a little less perfect blacks and surely enjoy the LCD tech so much better.

I cant wait for the 4K - G75 version to come out. And it will be so much better - PPI vs that extremely low 1440P at 32, as I want it. 4K at 32 inch and 1000 nits HDR, will be just frikking perfect. If so they can solve the VRR problem that is!

My Samsung G7 27" arrived and I have a problem.
GPU: GTX1070
Cable: CLUB 3D HBR3 DP1.4 VESA certified cable. Laptop has MiniDP needs to be converted to DP.
Monitor firmware: 1008.0
Gsync: Globally OFF in NV CP and in Monitor Settings (Adaptive Sync OFF)
NVIDIA Driver: 451.77

When using HDMI, no problems, max refresh rate is 144Hz and RGB color depth is 8bit. No flickering while gaming or while idle at desktop.

When using the DP cable, at 144Hz (8bit and 10bit) it keeps on flickering in the game Battlefield 1, it turns black for 1 second then back on. After I quit the game, the desktop starts to flicker too.

What is causing this? the $40 VESA certified cable? or the firmware? Nvidia Driver? or any of my settings?

UPDATE: I updated nvidia to latest 460 driver and i can now play flicker-free at 144Hz 8bit on displayport. I will do more testing (8bit vs 10bit depth, Gsyn On vs Off), hopefully this settles it.

Nope, not fixed, blinking On OFF (Losing DP signal) is still happening randomly and is very disruptive. 8bit and 10bit 144Hz. I hope it's just the cable although I am not sure i can find a better cable than that, a $40 VESA certified HBR3 1.4 cable. Could be a fault in my GPU DP port or is it a samsung G7 problem?

Smeemi & unKle, do you get this issue with HDR off, on or both?

HDR is off. I can't make it happen in Dirt Rally 2.0 pause screen now, updated drivers yesterday, think that's just coincidence.

It's not my main screen so I don't notice it as much as it's mounted to my simrig. I can imagine if it was my main desktop screen it would bother me.

But it's been switched on for an hour now and done it once (that I've noticed).

I purchased the G7 32" (LC32G75TQSUXEN) in late January 2021 from an European online retailer, the sticker on the back of the monitor says "Version No : FD03". Is this a recent revision or is it meaningless?

It already had the last firmware update installed (M-TG700CCAA-1009.3).

Both but mainly HDR on.
The flicker that I'm getting is full screen flicker and it only happens in HDR. The interesting thing is, I've noticed that it only happens in AC Odyssey when looking up at a clear moonlit sky at 5120x1440 with HDR on. That said, I pointed it at the moon tonight and moved the moon around the screen until it flickered, I then started messing with the colour settings in the OSD and noticed something interesting... if I select Warm 2, the flickering stops. If I then raise the blue level above 11 then the flickering starts to return, the higher it moves, it also happens if instead of raising the blue level I raise one of the other colours too high. The fact that I can't get it to happen in any other game that I have installed, makes me think it is a miscalculation in the firmware of the monitor rather than a hardware issue, but I'm not 100% sure.

Having had my ZR30w for almost 11 years I thought I might get myself a new monitor as it doesn't have the inputs I need (dual displayport) so the G7 seemed like a good upgrade until I came here and read all the comments, I can't believe in this day and age there are still loads of issues like this? it's put me off changing it and maybe waiting but it was the same 10 years ago in the forums people RMA'ing 10 monitors to try and get one they like nightmare!

It is pretty depressing, but sadly this issue isn't isolated to Samsung. I expect whichever monitor you go for, if it has bleeding-edge technology in it, then you'll no doubt find a lot of people complaining about issues. The thing that makes it worse, is that monitors are getting so expensive.

My G9 was built in September and once I'd updated to the latest version BIOS it works perfectly in every way, totally jaw dropping performance.

I was really nervous because of the shameful earlier QA issues but all seems good, for me anyway, so far.

I would really recommend it for gaming, but I am mainly into sedate games such as Divinity Original Sin 2 and Farcry 5.

Farcry 5 is breath-taking, vibrant, colourful and the sheer size of the screen makes it something really special.

Not had a flight sim installed for many years but tempted with the MS one just because of the G9

Hello Guys ,

Bought a G7 27" LC27G75TQSUXEN arrived today ,tested ,no dead pixel ,bleed, flickering ,scan line , nearly perfect but

hearing a quiet but noticeable buzzing coil whine like noise from it obviously not hear that when i gaming or watching movies ,but annoying without a headphone in the silent room sadly.

I tried switching on ,off all options ,combinations , different cables and find that if i put it back to 144 hz still can hear but just if i push my ear to it ,and on 60hz completly silent.

is it normal ? im on a M-TG700CCAA-1009.3 version

Anybody experienced the same ?

Thank You

if you turn off Adaptive Sync in monitor settings menu (maybe renamed it to G-sync in 1009.3 update), and set desktop zoom level to 125% in windows display settings, does it go away? I don't personally have the coil whine but that's what i read from other users online.

May I ask you one question about a problem I am facing on my G7?

If you set the refresh rate in Nvidia control panel to 144Hz and the refresh rate in Monitor settings menu to 240Hz. Does the monitor keep blinking off and on or does it stabilize? Mine keeps blinking until i turn it off and activate my laptop monitor and revert the settings.

Thanks.

Hi folks, I'm considering upgrading to a 27" G7 but I'm concerned the stand may be too deep. Any idea of the measurements? I've read on the ratings.com review of the 32" that the one it uses is about 12" front to back. My PC desk has a built in monitor stand and as I don't want to change it and can't wall mount this could be an issue.

I received my g7 one day last week on firmware 1009. Picture is superb but a lot of little bugs. Mine doesn't auto switch on when pc or xbox one x is powered up. Playing on warzone I randomly keep getting like a little frame on the bottom and right hand edge almost like it's, windowed. I checked and its always fullscreen. If I make a change to the resolution or frame size.. It goes... For a few minutes then comes back. If I select the xbox menu on pc whilst playing warzone... There's a delay, like it goes from hdr to non hdr and screen goes blank for a moment. I never had this issue on my acer predator. I've set the nvidia menu to 144hz 10 bit rgb. But in the monitor options it's always 240hz and in warzone its, set to 240hz even though I change it back to 144hz.. It'll go back!
