** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

Found out this morning that I am 72nd in the queue from an order on 28th June for my G9. Had one in a basket last night for delivery today elsewhere (very briefly and they are all gone now) but am happy to wait was told originally the end of July so nothing is late for me yet. Appreciate the situation everywhere with these and hope OC's next batch covers what they ordered and all of the preorders whenever that arrives. In the meantime will earn more brownie points...got a room to decorate.. and not sure I can hide this when it does turn up.....:D

I disabled adaptive sync after watching Linus' review and some information from this channel. Also set the response time to "Fastest/MBR" and set the refresh rate to 240Hz (of course).

Do you find a big difference between the MBR and non MBR modes in terms of pixel response and smoothness? Normally for backlight strobing you need refreshrate = framerate to get the smoothest result.

Interestingly I just read that a person who received his used to have a 38GL950G - still prefer the new G9. Quite fascinating reading his review. Choice choices choices !

Apparently this new Samsung MBR mode, does not use backlight strobing, like say Asus do in their latest 27 inchers, but rather better backlight control. Anyways, you cannot see strobing yourself, or even a camera filming wont be able to pick it up, so it has none of the effects of making your head hurt or eyes etc etc, from what I tell the way to go on these things is Adaptive sync OFF, and MBR & LOW LATENCY MODE on, for the best and fastest and smooth experience, just make sure ur pushing good FPS. Me personally, I'm gonna wait and buy one of these along with a new big navi/ampere card.

Very Interesting I just presumed it was backlight strobing.

Provide source on that.
MBR means turning backlight off for duration of pixel transition time. You can't do that without ending up with strobing at 240hz. Just that at 240hz it will be imperceptible to the eye and thus not cause any issues.
Possibly they do two strobes per frame, so effectively 480hz.

Regardless of "how" it works, watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl6bwVXCWKI&t=494s , we can clearly see that compared to Asus strobing which you can see and feel the effects of, on the Samsung it never appears even on camera, which never misses anything, cannot pick it up. Personally, I don't care if its strobing or not, if its done BETTER and in a way that only gives positives and no negatives, then WELL DONE Samsung.

Presume you called, did they have any information about delivery date to hand?

I emailed them. This is what I got about delivery:

"We don't have any concrete information just yet - we're fulfilling pre-orders as and when we receive stock. So far we've received one small delivery which went to the first pre-orders, and are yet to hear anything about future deliveries. Please feel free to check our website/forums for updates."

Think I'm gonna go all out on the G9 and sack off the 32" G7.

Will deffo need to get a new GPU though, dont think the MSI 2080 will be able to push this baby.

For what it's worth, I had another order with the competitor at a slightly more expensive price, as they said they would receive stock today for delivery to me tomorrow. I just got an email from them stating that they've not arrived and now expecting them in at the end of the month.

So it's not just OCUK having issues it seems.

I ordered the g7 27". I rang yesterday and was told that the first batch have been sent out, there are 72 more pre orders waiting for 27" but they're getting in 100+ 27" ones. Wasn't given an eta, just got told "in the next few weeks".

100+ makes my 33rd place in the queue sound more promising for the next batch. Thanks :).

Just received my 32" G7 through work today......had a quick whirl on it on my lunch break, 240hz, Fastest (MBR) and Adaptive Sync Off and had no flicker at all so far when playing COD....but I only had about 20 mins with it...from what I played, im VERY impressed with it....but I've yet to really test it out yet.
