** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

I think with all this fiasco and mess of a launch, or "planned launch" lol, these should go back on pre order promotion as a good will gesture, weather that be from Samsung or OC, cant help but think to myself that the whole Odyssey line up of monitors, have been somewhat tainted with all these rumors. Oh and I was just on the official samsung G series webpage, one of the listed features is "Flicker free - Yes", so I really don't see how they can then turn around to other users and say "its normal".

Just cancelled my G7 order :( I am hoping that come black friday the prices will be good and the QC issues will be ironed out. Maybe may even have the money for a G9

Ahh jeez, doesn't bode well for my preorder then. God i hope i end up with a good panel or a monitor where its been resolved. I don't want to cancel as i had the offer price plus deciding on a different monitor is a PITA for me (working in ICT has made me fussy haha).

Don’t panic too much mines is from Oct 2019 so I reckon my g7 was one of the first displays off the line.

Seems like a pretty mixed bag of panels rather than same gen/age of panels being delivered. I won't be cancelling as for the price it could result in a good pay off if the panel is good and issues get resolved.

Well I am supposed to have a G9 en route for collection from a retail store and now I don't know whats happening lol.

All this talk of Recalls is very concerning.

Yeah I'm lucky....I've not had any flickering of any kind on any setting ive tried (32" G7)....guess it is a lottery.

There was also comments made by various owners on how hot the top of the G9 was getting (one guy measured it at 46c). The recall (if true) could also be related to that?

I have had mine on for about 4 hours now this morning and its not hot, its warm but not hot.

Previously you said you have adaptive sync off? the flickering happens mainly when adaptive sync is set to ON so you wouldn't see it with your current settings anyway.

Yeah that's true....although I did actually have it set to on for the first few hours of using it, but I cant set it to on in the Nvidia Control panel.

I'm trying to...but when I download the bin file from Samsung, unzip it and put the USB in the correct port in the back...it says it cant find the correct update file? Anyone else have this issue?

Edit: Fixed - it clearly doesn't like large USB Flash drives.

What size of memory stick works then for the firmware update? Lowest i have is 32GB?

Also, any idea how to get the rear cover off on the G9, it wont budge and i dont want to break the clips!?

Just seen this on Reddit regarding G9`s

In order to ensure the optimal performance of the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitors, Samsung has adjusted the production process. All devices not yet delivered are undergoing a renewed quality check since July 15, which may lead to delayed availability.

So my order that was meant to arrive today, then was pushed back to the 27th, is now out for shipment for tomorrow!

Praying to the gods I get a flicker-free panel!

Ha ha - I had the exact same problem this morning with mine! - I was just VERY careful - but I am not too sure I am going to put that back on as I want to access to the USB's for future firmware updates.
