** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

What size of memory stick works then for the firmware update? Lowest i have is 32GB?

Also, any idea how to get the rear cover off on the G9, it wont budge and i dont want to break the clips!?

Well at first I tried with a 64GB and it couldn't find the file....then tried it on a 16GB and it found it and updated fine...32GB may work though.

Try formatting to fat32, i saw that suggested on youtube comments somewhere.

What exactly do you mean by rear cover?
There is a cover that goes on the lower half of the back of the monitor that once it’s clicked into place is quite hard to take off gain without fear you might break it as it’s only plastic. The issue is it covers all the inputs so I am going to leave mine off.

Exactly right. Like MidKnight said. Common on most monitors to cover the sockets/input etc. Probably easy to get off, just babying this thing so only tried for a few seconds to get it off and it didnt budge...

OK, checked also on YouTube, G7 has similar cover and feels also very plastic and I left mine off.

Never thought this day would come. I allways say - Never ever a VA monitor again as I hate that VA smear!
So this really is a historical moment. This is magic. Cant belive what Samsung been doing.

This seems like the dream monitor I allways wanted. Good blacks and superfast without any blur. Best from all monitor tech.
One thing put me off or two. First that the g-sync range only works from 80 fps (hz) and up. Thats terrible. And that curvature; seems way to much and I never used a curved monitor so I dont know what I will think!

But the worst is that g-sync range. Well maybe an nVidia gamer since long time just have to go AMD as their range is from 60 fps and up + AMD have this LFC. And that RDNA 2 seems to be fantastic. So we shall see!

BTW, I just got the LG C9 OLED Tv, as IMO allmost all monitors sucks ..LOL!
But then come this and im really fed up on the OLED. To many issues as g-sync near black flashing and even in movies. Plus will also be Not have to worry about burn in at all. So yeah this seems like the dream screen for gaming :)

Attention: All G7 32" owners with flickering problem, can you please check back of the monitor, where inputs are: https://imgur.com/RFhSUtB , And check what is your revison?

Hardware Unboxed has FB01 and did not notice flickering. I have FB02 and I have flickering. I know at least one reddit user had G7 32" replacement due flickering, and replacement model is FB01 and he reported after quick testing less flickering.

my 49" G95 has arrived. I've just been using it on 120fps adaptive sync mode and there is no flickering in standard mode but there is a flicker on the desktop in HDR mode, this isn't noticeable in game though.

Also what brightness setting is everyone using, most the picture modes seem to be set at 100% which is far too much for me.

i am using brightness level 15, as borrowed from this guide https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/samsung_c49rg90.htm#optimal, until they do a guide for the G9...
