** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

I will be returning mine, G7 32", so many issues. Not only flickering but more. Here is picture: https://imgur.com/a/c3I2OPH

The visible scanlines was last straw for me as I really hurt my eyes, those were visible on desktop use and it was frightening experience as I was looking away from my monitor and I kept seeing these scanlines on my vision for 5sec or so and after that I've had sore eye.

As PaulR75 said, you should definitely receive one over the next few days. :) I pre-ordered on the 11th July, from what I understand the batch that arrives tomorrow should cover nearly all of the remaining June pre-orders.

So, Sobtanian, PaulR75 and everyone else in that batch, I hope you get good monitors with QC stickers and no defects - please report back and let us know how you get on. :)

Will do Andrew! Hope yours isn't too far behind. My 1080GTX is not looking forward to it as much as I am....

Where are these g9s being sourced from? I have been on pre order at another LARGE vendor since early June :(

It is an awesome beast of a screen, will be worth the wait.

Tried HDR within windows but overshoot is REALLY bad, anybody else getting the same?

Edit - fixed the overshoot, turned freesync off and changed the motion response setting to Normal instead of Faster. Turned freesync back on and it's kept the setting.

Can I ask everyone’s thoughts please? After returning the scratched G7 I received its replacement today.

for my own piece of mind (and in case there were any other issues) I recorded the unboxing. Straight away I noticed a second bit of sellotape over the top of the original but it did have ‘Samsung’ running through it. I thought nothing else of it as when I opened it all the rest of the parts seemed to have not been opened.

tonight (after testing the monitor) I have noticed a few things have had another label stuck over it (for example the back cover).

Now everything looks in good order don’t get me wrong, but I feel if this was a return (for any reason) then I should have been informed of this?

This is a high end flagship monitor and I just feel so let down overall (although the monitor is a beast).

Also, every time I load windows the font is HUGE, then Windows make the jingle (like when it recognises a USB being plugged in) then the font goes smaller. Whats all that about?

The irony of course is that I’m taking the family to a short trip next week, back on Friday

Maybe it’ll arrive over the weekend if I’m really lucky; otherwise I think it’s with DPD and I can just schedule it for another date.

The more I think about it, the harder I'm finding it to believe that any of the incoming G9 stock would be a version 2.

If you consider that most shipments come via the water, and the size of the g9 boxes. It would be really expensive to send them via air, I cant see them doing that... The shipments via water tend to take 6 weeks minimum from China to Europe.

If the issues were only spotted after they went on sale, then that doesnt really give enough time to manufacture a new batch with the issue(s) fixed, and ship them over in time..

My G7 had small right angled plastic films on top corners of monitor and long film on entire bottom bezel. Also had a plastic film on small logo on back of monitor. Not noticed for it to have any writing, but maybe not paid attention to it..
I have mounted it to VESA dual-arm stand so not opened or looked at original stand parts at all...
As per fonts - have you checked what scaling option you have in Windows for this monitor? I've had 125% set initially by Windows itself, but lowered it to 100%.
Also - have you installed Samsung's monitor driver or you run on initial Generic PnP monitor ?

The monitor did have all the plastic films on it like you described, but the outer box has sellotape over top of the original, the sellotape was samsung branded (i.e had the word samsung running down it).

What happens is, I load Windows (either from cold or restart) and the resolution is 1024 x 768 - so the font is huge and the image in blurry in the background. If I wait Windows makes the jingle (like a USB being attached) then the screen goes black and it turns back on at the correct resolution. This happens on every boot/restart. Its frustrating. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from the nvidia website (not Asus) and also upgraded the firmware of the monitor to the one off Korean website. I am connected via DP using the cable provided.

I am at a complete loss as to why this is happening. Randomly it seems to slow down the whole login process. It seems to take ages to even acknowledge the DP (I can tell as the screen is black then the image comes up at the top left to advise it is using DP). On a restart I even miss the BIOS screen as the system takes so long to recognise the monitor (note: on a boot from cold I do normally see the BIOS screen). Every time I load the BIOS it is in a normal/readable resolution.

Hats off to the really nice guy I just spoke to at OC. He confirmed what has been mentioned here earlier (batch of G9s going out today) and that I’m 14th in queue (ordered 6th of June) and he upgraded the delivery to Saturday DPD at no extra cost, as I’m away next week :)

Sellotape on outer box - not had that on mine..

Windows - i have 2 monitors and BIOS comes up on other one (4k Dell U2718Q), G7 does not show me this, but it does have huge problems with starting in general - I agree.
As per font - I was referring to monitor driver for Windows:
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...Path=DR/202003/20200324080812363/CxxG75xQ.exe
Seems like you need to use exe downloaded, as unzipped content of this file was unable to complete driver install on my system.

Yeah, so there was normal clear sellotape holding down the box flaps, the was cut at the ends and a new roll was put on top of the old one to reseal it.

What are those drivers for? Sorry, when I click it I just get the exe download and I am at work

It's a EXE with Windows drivers for monitor, if you want just search for Odyssey G7 drivers page on Samsung website at home..
It had changed model for my monitor in Device Manager's properties from Generic PnP Monitor to G7's code name and enabled 240Hz refresh rate when I was looking at settings for it..

I am getting the 240Hz but I think under device manager it does state generic PnP monitor, however under the nvidia control centre it does have the model name.

You should be using the correct monitor driver, it contains info like the RES+HZ and colour (color) profiles, obv this mattered more back in CRT days as each RES had a different HZ.

Regardless I still get windows all moved around each power up on monitor after it powers off due to what I assume is a lower RES at startup (not Windows starting).

That's very annoying, especially for a monitor geared towards productivity running multiple windows, I've had this in the past sometimes while running 3 screens, I really don't get how in 2020 it's still hard to lock windows into place.

I tend to not leave windows on screen but this also effects programs that run off screen in the Notification area like NV CP/Aida64/AV programs like MWB/ESET/Logitech HUB etc.
