** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

Some who get that say to power it right down (pull PSU cable to monitor) and leave it a good min or two then try again which IMO is not really usable.

I am actually fed up with it. I genuinely love the monitor, but these problems are taking away the enjoyment. Shouldn't have to go to these lengths just to get the monitor to pick up an image. I did try your suggestion but didn't leave it for 1-2 minutes.

The reason you are told to reboot and leave a router or TV box unplugged for 10-30secs to clear a fault is to let the power stored in the Capacitors drain (some CAPS will not drain even after days like in a PSU so do not open one unless you have discharged it).

You can press the power button on bottom of your monitor (JOG Button) and it will discharge as it will try to power up and drain the CAPS.

Thanks mate, I will give this a go next time it happens (which is every time, but wont be until tomorrow now).

G9 owners, random one - does the bottom of your screens seem to have a bit of a "vignette" on it? at the top of my g9 its a "smooth" end of the screen, but at the bottom there's almost a slight fading out of the pixels... really hard to describe...

I've also noticed the bottom of the screen doesnt look QUITE as clear as the mid-top...

If you look at the picture, the bottom few pixels of the mouse pointer are a darker grey pixel

another great example. See how the start bar gets darker? That isn’t normal, right?

Also, those of you who have tried the pendulum demo. I have mine set to 240hz, when I load it the screen looks really skewed, as if it’s loading it in a different resolution and stretching it. Is there any way to check the settings. I’d ran it before on my old monitor, so wondering if it could be using the old res

Have you ran the demo config programme first to set Res and full screen

Got my G9 today. (Not from OCUK). What a screen this is, its absolutely stunning. Luckily I don't seem to have any dead or stuck pixels but I do have the bezel separation in same position that others are reporting about 19 cm from top left for about 3 cm. I've played GTA and Modern Warfare so far and it performs fantastic and not noticing any flickering with 2080ti and gsync on. (Except that gif that was posted. That does seem to cause the backlight to do some strange stuff) I am disappointed about the bezel but I am going to see how I get on over the next few days. For anyone interested my monitor did not have any QC sticker on the box and it is Version FA01 with no manufacture date noted.

The bezels on mine seem fine so far... just this bloody stuck red pixel in the middle. Could cry!

Now do I go for a return as within 14 days (and hope the retailer doesn’t get difficult) or try Samsung for a replacement?

Legally entitled to return goods (for any reason) within 14 days....only problem is you will foot the cost (unless damaged/faulty) - one stuck pixel will not deemed as faulty. I returned 2 27" monitors (as I didn't like them) to two separate companies, one paid for the return the other I had to pay, cost me £15 and the bulk of that was for insurance (of only £300 ish). Cant imagine what the cost will be for insurance up to £1300. Depending on where you are and retailer is (and who they are) might be beneficial to ask if you can return it yourself (although this does come with its own risks).

Well it's going back... and I am not paying shipping.
Samsung on chat agreed that it is a valid reason for a return and to contact my retailer.
Contacted them this morning and they have agreed the return and sent me a shipping label.

The only issue - they don't keep backorders, so I will have to order another unit elsewhere. That's annoying.

Glad to hear they are sorting it out for you. Hopefully stock comes soon for you.

I think our monitors must be twins MadMan. Tested in the dark last night with Flight Sim at night and I too have the light bleed issue towards the top left under the bezel. I thought from the reports the bezel was coming apart but that doesn't appear to be the case. The bezel looks fine the slight gap between the panel and bezel looks consistent the whole way around the screen and its certainly not loose or anything like that. Its just the back-light shines through. I cant really see it in the day at all and it isn't particularly bright. Going to keep an eye on it but with no stuck or dead pixels there is no way I am returning it at this point. Will keep an eye on it and of course if it grows or anything like that I will return it under warranty seems to be common enough that it would be accepted as valid. But for now I am fine with it.

EDIT: Had a closer look and it is the panel slightly moving forward away from the back of the bezel. I tried pushing the bezel down initially to see if the gap would close but it is solid. Instead I very gently (and by very gently it was zero force with thought of the chap who put his fingers through the screen unpacking it) pressed the screen back and you could hear the tacky sound of glue (technical I know :) ), it didn't need much and its closed it. No doubt it will come away again and I guess it may start to spread but will keep you all posted.

As much as I like my G9, I've decided to return it for a refund. Dropping £1300 on a screen shouldn't result in this much stress or really have any issues. Now I need to think about what alternative to get...

Sorry to hear that. Checked your images and I don't appear to have that issue so its probably the best idea. My screen wont stay stuck though but its not bad as long as it doesn't spread more.
