CES is only 6/7th I doubt it will be "and they are available now" launch. It will be a couple of weeks I'd have thought at the very least?

The 4090 was announced on September 20, 2022, at the GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2022 event, and launched on October 12, 2022.

yeah it would be a month after CES I'd imagine. Although Nvidia are rushing to beat Trump tariffs so that would be a nice surprise. Shame the keynote is at 2.30am on the 7th for us in the UK. Amd's is at 7pm on the 6th, which still gives Jensen time to adjust prices!

I think rushing the first wave out before the Chinese new year may be doable, but it could easily be pushed back to Feb.
We know that at least some Devs already have their hands on some samples (CD Project Red showed that in their Witcher 4 trailer).
Personally I would really like it if it was earlier, so I can finally be rid of my Vega64 :cry: The timing of this thread that Gibbo started may indicate that they may have some stock a little early - or maybe there were lots of questions and excitement since the intel cards just launched.
I'm definitely going to keep my eyes peeled anyway.
 
I got the impression for this thread was to make sure people are aware of the PayPal and Amazon Pay issues well in advance when so many got caught out with the 9800X3D release.

Anyway, I'm expecting it to be January release, all I said was I was hoping for Feburary as it would suite me a little better.

I hope they are giving the same consideration internally as well. The website went down for an hour on launch last time. :)

It will never happen, but it would be good to have a 15 minute exclusivity window, where you verify your established account on checkout (1 per customer).

I'm not sure what are good deterrents in all honesty, I don't know enough about what a bot can be scripted to get around.
