C300 128GB Fresh Win7 install.

Go to "msconfig" and check the services that start up with the system. You may have some application running which is not necessary like google toolbar notifier, adobe updater, etc...

9 month old install of Windows 7 on an OCZ Summit 60GB. The BIOS takes ages to come up though on this board, about the same time as a RAID array would, which is annoying.

If your not using any IDE related stuff, then, you can disable IDE check in the bios. It improves boot times. Your speed is quite good though for a nine month install.

2 x Samsung SLC 32GB in RAID 0 on Asus P5Q Deluxe with Q9550 (Win 7 x64). Everything left as is including Kaspersky, steam etc (makes no discernable difference if I switch them off surprisingly):

I never even realised you could switch off the welcome intro (msconfig>Boot>No GUI boot) until I read JonnyCasino's post. It did make a noticeable difference and I'll be leaving it off from now on:

C300 64GB on a P5Q Deluxe with a lot of stuff plugged into it,

Time to Logon: 11 sec
Time to Desktop: 16 sec

Not bad but I'm sure with a motherboard that doesn't fanny about so much it could be quicker. Still, it's not really the time it takes to get into windows that's the huge difference is it? It's the fact as soon as you see windows you don't have to wait another 5 minutes for all your programs to be loaded off the hardrive.
