I can recommend Autoruns for anyone looking to reduce the number of apps starting with windows (you have to run it as admin). I have most things disabled with it:

Alt-Print screen, this will take a snapshot of any selected window.

Paint.
Ctrl-V

File save as anything.

TinyImg - Upload, since its a window selection, no need to resize.

Copy the Forum url link you are provided with.

Paste it in here.

Cheers.
Bunyan.

I have a OCZ Vertex 2 60GB
Time to logon: 13s
Time to desktop: 19s

Are these times any good?

Does this count?

For people having trouble reading thats 16s to desktop with an X25-M G2. Max disk throughput is 265MB/s. not bad with SATA II being theoretically limited to 300MB/s. Using btrfs. Note this is slightly old when the drive was new, although with new kernel versions i'm pretty sure it's faster especially since I don't use KDE anymore.

Oh and network is up and running in that time.

All the build's dying tbh, but yeah, almost deserve a prize for coping with this! (currently a big fan of sleep mode as you might imagine xD)
