Here's my WD Velociraptor 600GB

Not too shabby :D

My Vertex 3 is fair bit slower than yours xtremedetailz, but im running it on X58 board with the fabulous marvell controller. Though your times are around twice as fast.
What Clock is your CPU at out of interest?

hmmm my time to logon is around 19 and time to desktop 23, so time from logon to desktop is about the same, its just the 11 seconds difference at the first stage?
Drive is plugged into SATA3 port and set to ACHI and is primary boot device with CD drive 2nd, my RAM is also the same 1066 C7

mine is set to raid mode in the bios XHD if i remember correct as it wouldnt install in ahci mode.

my scores are also slower than ahci mode so doesnt make much sense.

There is a program that tells you what programs are starting and how long each one takes to load...can't remember what it's called though. There was probably a thread about it here at some point.

EDIT: Soluto! That's it.

Daanng... I need an SSD in my new build :p

(Also, I'd like to add.... I was able to use my Desktop at around 50 seconds but for some reason it carried on counting... Probably because programs were starting)

Hi Guys,

I've just joined a new review site and have compared the following 'Boot Timings' (Thanks for the heads up on this bench from this forum ;-)

The timings are from an existing 'imaged' harddrive restored onto the following:

Samsung F3 1tb (78 Sec)
Corsair X64 SSD (30 Sec)
Vertex 3 SSD (24 Sec)

http://pcgameware.co.uk/review-ocz-vertex-3-120gb-by-greg/

Bear in mind this is a long running installation (ie not fresh install) so has all sorts in the start up. - but maybe like a typical machine after a few months or so?

From running MSCONFIG

I have the following 'extra' services running

Asus com service
Asus HM com service
Asus System Control service
.Net 4 (x86 & x64)
Futuremark SystemInfo service
Intel PROSet Monitoring Service
NVIDIA Driver Helper Service
NVIDIA Update Service Daemon
STEAM Client Service

And in my Startup I have
Roboform (browser password manager)
Adobe Reader
Adobe Acrobat
AudioDrvEmulator
IAStorIcon
USB 3.0 Monitor
Java(TM) Platform SE Auto Updater 2.0
Browser Configuration Utility
