New summer transfer thread

I heard it was Appiah. Would make sense that he would be tapped up with the Tuncay move.

He's a striker who is deployed comfortably on the Right-Wing.

yeh they were the two rumored but i think Govou would be more likely, i don't think Morrison would have been let go if Southgate wasn't pretty confident of adding someone to the squad

That's true. I'd love to see both and possibly utilise a midfield of Downing - Boateng and Appiah with Tuncay behind 2 strikers and Govou to make it a 4 man midfield with Yak and Tuncay.

It would be beneficial to get both as it would allow 2 totally different styles to be played. If you get either they will be top transfers.

Not sure where the Appiah and Govou rumours are coming from. Think it's fans making them up tbh.

Seems more likely we will be back in fro Karadeniz and we are also interested in that Argentian "next Maradona" although suspect he'll be going to one of the top four.

Is that the one who was going to get the bus but wouldn't make it on time so got a taxi instead ;)

I cant see the Glazers forcing Fergie's hand myself - whatever SAF wants in regards to team and squad, he is likely to get. The historical animosity between the two teams (recently shown by the Smith Ambulance incident) and fans is so strong it would be a huge precedent to tell Fergie what to do

I like Heinze as a player but after whats gone on I cant see him playing any kind of role in a 1st team match ever again,

Linoge, after your comments about Ronaldo leaving last summer I thought you'd be a bit less forward in your views about Heinze ;).

Quiet you. I had my concerns over Ronaldo last summer and rightfully so, but Heinze on the other hand takes the complete biscuit. ;)

Edit: Forgot to mention some deluded scouser going on about how Ferguson is denying Heinze a chance to work, a bit rich coming from a scouser I thought. Although 606 does have it fair share of demented fans phoning in.

lol :D

I expected this attitude from Heinze, it just goes to show he has been secretly pushing his agent for a move to Liverpool all along the lying .... and it's not just come from his agent without his permission.

Hopefully he'll be gone within a few weeks but Liverpool will not be the destination. From fan favourite to complete zero in a matter of weeks. Disappointing.

+1

My understanding is that he has been trying to get a ticket out of OT for the best part of 18 months now. I'll be sad to see him go because when the team was in transition he showed some real balls. But like any proud Argentine he must know going to your closest rival is a no no. If he side stepped a move like Ince did then it's nearly forgivable but the way he is going about things is wrong. Especially after he was on full wages whilst he was injured for the best part of a year.

Villa battling with Man City and Sunderland for Craig Gordon - £9m seems a lot, but could be a decent investment, and supposedly moving in for Curtis Davies for £8m - at last some rumblings at Villa Park!
