Since the start of 2003 no one has scored more premier league goals than Yakubu except than Henry IIRC.

12 goals last season hardly equates to a £10mill striker IMO. Although, £7.5mill for Bellamy was the best joke I have heard all summer.

I've heard this, but I don't see how it can possibly be true.

13 goals 2 seasons in a row is 26 (bringing the Maths skills with me today!) yet Rooney and Ronaldo both got 23 last season!

Berbatov scored 12 Prem goals last season. Would you be unhappy if your team bought him for £10m?

Key words: Premier League

Rooney got 16 last season and Ronaldo got 17.

???

as said hes one of the best and most consistent goalscorers in the league and hes done that playing for crap teams

he gets lazy but who cares when hes still scoring

he thrives for the big games , scored some cracking goals against the top teams in last few years

bargain for 10 million compared to some of the other deals in this window

Carson is expected to join either City or Villa (likely to be Villa though) on a season long loan tomorrow.
:( Fulham should have moved in for him, after wanting to sign him.

How many of Ronaldo's goals were penalties?

I know of at least one penalty he 'earned' and scored last season that he shouldn't... cheating &@%$!

Oh let it lie. Because you've never had divers have you.
Oh wait, yes you have... the most famous one of all time.

And Ronaldo is a winger, not a striker. So he did well to get so many without penalties.

smoggys stop trying to pimp yak like hes worthy of any top 8 teams. He'd never even get a start, due to his crap attitude.
The better sides dont play as single players, they play as teams, would be no room for someone like yak to be honest!
And goals get spread more in those teams, meaning he wouldnt be the only one capable of scoring goals in the team.

I'm the same, if they buy him moyes has lost the plot. We didnt seem to have the money available to buy Nugent or Smith. Now all of a sudden we are talking about 10 million pound Midfielders and Yakubu.

I'd rather they bought Smith for less.

If they buy Yak I can't think of a signing in recent years I've be more gutted about.

Erm neither Rooney or Ronaldo scored 23 league goals last season. Or are you just adding invisible goals that no one else saw?

The top Premier League goal scorer for the last four seasons is;

1. Henry 92
2. Yakubu 54
3. Robbie Keane and Rooney 53
5. Lampard 50

If Van Nistelrooy had still being at Man Utd last season he would have had a good chance of taking 2nd since in the three previous seasons he'd scored 47 goals.

But obviously to the board football experts that makes the Yak rubbish and how dare us Boro fans suggest he could play for a top 8 team we should really know our place and never ever talk about football again.

If you look at the above table, and then look at the teams Yakubu has played for to achieve that kind of proves he is a talented player. Imagine what his goal return could have been had he been playing for one of the top sides in the league.

Personally, despite the above, I wouldn't pay £10m for him (especially considering we got Berbatov for the same) and secondly he wouldn't fit into our system.

And look where Lampard is. Yet everyone besides Chelsea fans slate him, when he has consistently knocked goals in for us from midfield.

Great player.

I personally prefer him to Gerrard myself.
Cant see why most people i know, as you say, slate Lampard.

Its funny because a lot of my mates say that England play well when its just Gerrard and no Lampard, but cant quite see the picture when i point out its the same the other way around. :p.
