New Test Drive Unlimited Screens

From the videos it seems like a Need For Speed clone, with the police radio chatter, and with worse voice acting than in NFS: Most Wanted (which had great voice acting).

I don't see anything yet to get excited about

You like walking the line of becoming a troll don't you, particularly in reference to 360 Games.

as pointed out - past Test Drive games have looked great but been rubbish to say the least, so will wait until others have brought it in September and passed judgement.

I really hope this game doesnt disapoint, it looks amazing
I'm bracing myself because EA will bugger something up, they always do. They couldn't even get something as simple as Fight Night right. Pre-fight sequences that let your opponent hit you, but not vice versa anyone?

EA aren't that bad, plus normally don't make the games. You're obviously talking about EASports.

Yer I guess so. I just hate their generic menu systems used in every game which kills off the chances of peeps modding them. Got lotsa reasons to rant about ea though, but its a bit OT :D

Even better news!

LYON, FRANCE – 5 May 2006 – Atari today announced that an exclusive demo for the highly anticipated racing game, Test Drive Unlimited, will be made available to users of the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, via the Xbox Live® Marketplace. The demo will be available to download from 8 May until 14 May 2006 as part of Microsoft’s plans to bring gamers closer to the E3 experience and offer of free Xbox Live Gold membership for the week.

The demo grants players an exclusive chance to get behind the wheel of Test Drive Unlimited and sample some of its online and offline challenges along 40 miles of Oahu’s beautiful open roads. To add a bit of spice, players will be able to replay all of the challenges as many times as they wish in order to shave valuable seconds off their time-challenge records, or set about thrashing either human or AI competition in the races before heading to www.testdriveunlimited.com to view their global ranking.

As a way of letting players find out for themselves what a Massively Open Online Racing game is, the Test Drive Unlimited demo will allow players to set up as many instant challenges as they wish. Players driving along the road can challenge other players to a one-on-one race, define their own start and end points for the race, and power through the lush Hawaiian scenery at break-neck speeds.

With a choice between the Ford Shelby GT500, Lotus Exige and Lamborghini Gallardo, a luxury-laden Lamborghini dealership to visit, and a beautiful house for each player who logs in, the demo offers players a mouth-watering taste of Eden Games’ forthcoming automotive masterpiece.

Test Drive Unlimited is racing reinvented. For more information and to view global demo rankings visit www.testdriveunlimited.com.

I disagree, Battlefield 2 was produced by EA and it has one of the best engines ever for modders to work on.

Also, EA produced Burnout Revenge on Xbox360 and thats my favourite game on the system.

Sounds good!

This is one thing I really do like with the 360 (I didn't have a abox on live so I can't comment on that). The ability to download a demo and give it a good thrashing. (like I did with amped 3 until I realised it was a bit naff).

The game 'looks' good but then again so does a lot of games out there. However how it plays will be the deciding factor for me.

One thing worrys me with this game however. I think in some ways they have been too ambitious. It makes me wonder what polishing they have had to sacrifice to get all the extra content in there.
