Sabine Schmitz and Chris Harris to present along side Chris Evans. It's a shame they are calling it Top Gear as I think it would be a great show with these guys, just not a replacement for top gear.

David Coulthard is also on the list as a presenter...

I'm personally looking forward to both this and what Clarkson comes up with.

Ok I'm suddenly interested with this line up.

Like May said it's great we'll have two car focused shows. I just hope they change the top gear formula substantially. Can't see the boyish joking around idiot malarkey working with that line up.

Edit - oh so not confirmed

Love Harris, but not sure whether not he will shine on TV given his track record on Fifth Gear. Love his youtube stuff though.

If they keep it semi serious I will be very happy, love a show where those involved actually love what they do

It's actually true. Top Gear is a household name, and the same applies to the three presenters. Chris Harris is well known within enthusiast circles, but is unknown outside of that.

I haed no idea who Chris Harris is and I think I'm typical of most of the British public. I only know of Sabine through TG.

I've seen him on Youtube a couple of times but if someone said 'Chris Harris' I wouldn't know. If you said 'Chris Harris does cars on youtube' I'd have an incline but I'd also need to clarify who I thought you meant.

I can't see this lasting more than 2 years tbh. Sabine is a good driver but she's far too German. I have a feeling this will also end up reducing to a 30 minute programme after the first year.

As much as I have a lot of respect for Chris Harris, this doesn't seem like his kind of gig. Not saying he shouldn't or couldn't do it, but I can't imagine him bowing to the producers and the like.

If they give him relative free rein on what he says then brilliant.

Nothing officially confirmed yet, though. For all he know, he might be writing for the show?

I can't see that happening, he's a very opinionated guy and I certainly hope will bring his ideas to the table. He left Drive as he wasn't happy with the direction they were going in.

Hopefully they change the format, because I can't see this working as a muck about entertainment show with the new line up. It only worked so well because of Clarkson, May and Hammond.

Have mixed feelings about that - I'd like to see Chris Harris do some segments on top gear but I'm not buying him as a regular fixture - but happy to be proved wrong. Likewise they could do a lot worse than have Sabine do some more regular appearances but not convinced of the dynamic of the 3 of them but again happy to be proved wrong.
