New top gear lineup..

Can't believe the amount of negative comments. Evans could have lined up Ayrton Senna, Colin McRae and Valentino Rossi and people would still moan.
Wait until you've seen it at least. Struth!
 
With this lineup, it will be an interesting and enjoyable show for car enthusiasts.

And therefore last one season before being cancelled.
 
We all know that Hammond/May/Clarkson will pull viewers to Amazon for their new show anyway. Aside from the car enthusiast who spends time online, most people don't know who Sabine or Chris are, do most punters even know Evans is well into cars even?

Fox is right, it will be like how Top Gear used to be back in the day with Tiff and Quentin, then ultimately slip into cancellation.

Guess it depends how much light heartedness/comedy is forced on the presenters to try and appeal to the masses.

Either way it probably won't last long as you say.
 
I'm only going to watch this for Chris Harris. He does need to up his game for the TV audience, and if he does, it should make the show.
 
can't see this working :( the format from family entertainment on a Sunday night to Consumer based Guide to Car's won't appeal to the masses. Chris E will have to pull something out of his TFI bag to appeal to the masses which is what made TG such a big hit all over the World and will be what the BBC want otherwise it won't last..

As long as it doesn't end up scripted and forced like top gear ended up towards the end, then I'm happy.

Pretty much sums it up there. Could be an excellent show for car enthusiasts, but that will kill it for the general public who are far more interested in the entertainment value.

If they make it past 2 seasons I'll be impressed.

I agree.

I think CH makes cracking videos, knows his stuff and comes across as as very relatable. But interesting and informative as his videos are, they aren't really going to appeal to the average Top Gear fan. I hope he doesn't end up watering down his own style trying to emulate the original presenters if he won't be doing any more of his own content...would be a shame to lose his current style of content :(
 
^^ I agree. Chris Harris is first and foremost a car enthusiast who knows his stuff. His entertainment value is purely a byproduct of that, not something he seems to go out of his way to do. People watching him on youtube find him entertaining because they already have an interest in cars and are on the same page as him, hence find him entertaining and funny by default. I doubt the average joe will appreciate his humour.

Still, I'm now more interested than I was before. :)
 
The thing I loved about old top gear is the banter between the three. They are all a product of old English that doesn't exist anymore but used to love what they came out with. Chris Evans has this as well but the others I don't think so. Chris Harris has it a little but that German woman will ruin the whole thing. The chemistry just will not be there as it needs to be all men.
