Actually think Sabine Schmitz, Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris have potential for some interesting dynamics the rest hmmm.

Ah yes, I recognise Eddie Jordan now. Who is to Sabine's right (our left)?

I hate to say it , but he is obviously the token black guy.

Yay for reverse discrimination.

You can just tell they sat down and had a diversity checklist for this.

A bit demeaning, that.

His background seems pretty legit. If he's a 'token' anything, then he's a 'token' graduate from their publicised open auditions.

Yeah, I think it has potential. It will need to be different to the old TG and form it's own new identity, but it could be interesting.

Come off it

BBC are so heavily involved in this, your naive to think that they would let them choose somebody from the open auditions without being vetted.

No doubt he warrants it and "token black guy" is perhaps a bit harsh, but you can tell BBC are deliberately trying to make the show as PC as possible.

I am not doubting his credentials or talent. I was, as you say, pointing out the fact that a large part of why he was picked will have been because of his colour.

As for the shows, I am trying to reserve my judgement until it is on. I will give it a whirl but I don't hold out much hope. Especially now Eddie Jordan is in it :(.

He's black, that's a fact. What's not a fact is that his blackness was why he got the gig. You suggesting as much really is you doubting his credentials and/or talent (i.e. your disbelief in him getting the job without help from a quota).

They held an open audition, and I can well believe he was the best for the job to come through that. You can check his stuff out, it's great:

I never said it was a fact. It is my opinion, just like you have yours.

OK, figure of speech obviously :p.

I will write it better for you: In my opinion, a part of why Rory Reid was likely chosen as a 6th presenter for Top Gear (or indeed the whole reason there are 6(!) presenters now) is because of his skin colour.

Not wanting this to crash and burn but I've been very sceptical on this working, unfortunately Top Gear was successful because of who was presenting and the format they were doing. 3 Immature idiots pratting about!

The moment this show becomes even slightly factual people will not be interested, if it's successful then great.. 2 car shows to watch. Do however share the same views as what has been expressed in "Too Many Cooks"! 6 Presenters is far too much and may give the show a bit of a cluttered feel.

I didn't like the old top gear in the end.
To much staging and not much about cars I'll ever own

Ill give this a chance

What would you want to know about cars you could own for? Just go test drive one.

I want to see and know about cars I'm not likely to even see in the flesh never mind own.

Why would you ever want to know anything about cars you would own from a tv shows.
There's YouTube and other forms for that. What utterly boring tv that would be. For 1 in a thousand reviews of a car you're interested in.
