that could be interesting...

also I feel a bit sorry for the black guy - for all we know he was the best candidate for the job but with the current PC environment there is the suspicion/insinuation that he is the 'token black guy' and isn't there on merit

my view is that he probably does merit it, but the PC brigade used this in a combination of other things when making their decision.

6 presenters seems like a lot, but maybe they were trying to avoid a direct comparison. That would be a good idea because Clarkson, Hammond and May were Top Gear. Putting 3 different presenters in the same program would be unlikely to go well.

yup, they definitely need to change the format a bit - having three direct replacements would inevitably lead to direct comparisons to the previous personalities and likely negative ones due to nostalgia etc...

They've had more presenters in the past prior to the Clarkson-Hammond-May lineup

Didn't 5th Gear go the same way of having too many presenters?

Can't say I like the sound of the new line-up, don't particularly care for Eddie Jordan

So i get told to wind it in for being called a racist? Great moderation

Look at it another way, you got told to wind it in for being racist, I got told to do so for calling your racism out, either way, it's off topic. Bring it up at the next motors meet and you can tell me all about it. Drop it itt now.

Jono I don't see you as a racist, I see you as throwing your toys at the pram because someone called you a racist.
Hurf I think your accusations were wrong.
Let's leave it at that mmkay?

Looks like the BBC have decided to make their old 'Boy's Own Dinosaur of Political In-Correctness' into a shiny new 'Flagship of Diversity' in-line with the Govts. enforced Cultural Enrichment Program, it will never be allowed to fail no matter how dire it might become.

I'm actually amazed there's no disabled or trans-gender presenter TBH. I actually had a bet with a mate that Warwick Davies would be called in to present it.

I am sorry, but being called racist is a very strong accusation which was totally unwarranted and unfair. I hardly think i threw my toys out of the pram like you say. I simply asked him to explain himself and answer a simple question that would show how his accusation is ridiculously stupid ( the Oscars one).

I'm not going to continue to justify this publically, post in the content discussion forum if you have an issue. Let's get it back on topic please chaps.

Considering the show is now world-famous and has a huge following, it's a bit of an odd line-up to me. Only one is famous internationally, Chris Evans is only famous in the UK, Sabine is seemingly only known only to Top Gear fans and Chris Harris is known only to Chris Harris fans.

It's going to be a bizarre mix of accents and presenting styles, that much is for sure.

I actually hope it's amazing now, I'm really struggling to find anything worth watching on tv these days.

Even if it is more like 5th gear (but I'd imagine with better visuals). We will have what ever the old gang has planned to look forward to on prime also.

It will be awful, just like when the old crew left to do Fifth Gear in 2001. It looks like the BBC have thrown the kitchen sink at it to see what sticks, because they have no clue how to make the show without Clarkson and co.

The first episode will have high ratings as everyone tunes in to check it out and the BBC will say "The best TG ever!!!!" but I'd like to see the figures for the 3rd & 4th episode to see how far they've fallen.

I must be the only one who really disliked Hammond and Clarkson anyway so any change is good to me!
