A new stadium massively increases the money coming in. More debt short term (details to be disclosed how exactly they're doing it) more income long term.Does somebody that isn't bias want to break down how any of this, makes finical sense. United are in a billion debt, will need to borrow another two (which will probably end up being three or four) for 25k more seats when they already have a backlash about ticket prices.
I get something needs to be done about old Trafford, but going from we can't afford the tea lady and free chip butties to we are good for an extra 2 billion debt seems off.

Does it tho, maybe in London but this is Manchester. Ticket prices are already high enough for united fans to be complaining about them, and regular tickets make peanuts anyway.A new stadium massively increases the money coming in. Is that a sentence ? You need a full stop IF so........................................Nobody can be bias, but they can be biased
In London, you can already get a ticket to pretty much any united game for not much over face value. Prices don't go up when there's more availability. The tourists will pay whatever it costs

At least my sentence makes sense and apologies if I came across as rudeIs that a sentence ? You need a full stop IF so........................................
So trueI commented earlier that the 3-0 scoreline is the most ambitious thing on those photos.
It's a derby, on a scalper site a tourist would use if they fancied watching a game at old Trafford. The cheapest ticket I see is £99.Can you because the cheapest price there is £117 a ticket and for the East Stand Upper i don't think you're paying over £70
It should be pointed out that you're looking at tickets when our league season is over and has been for some time. We're basically safe from relegation and we're not threatening the Europe places. Of course there is going to be less interest now. It's a derby, on a scalper site a tourist would use if they fancied watching a game at old Trafford. The cheapest ticket I see is £99.
It hardly screams there is enough demand to increase prices enough to cover 2 billion in debt.
OK, so if you ignore the socioeconomic factors of the majority of local fans, selling an extra 25k tickets at a premium ALSO requires untied to be good on the pitch as well.It should be pointed out that you're looking at tickets when our league season is over and has been for some time. It doesn't require it, but it will impact how quickly tickets sell. As an aside I looked at our home attendances this season and they're essentially maxed out every game bar the odd cup game. COuple that with the queue for season tickets and I don't understand why you think there isn't demand.OK, so if you ignore the socioeconomic factors of the majority of local fans, selling an extra 25k tickets at a premium ALSO requires untied to be good on the pitch as well.
So the new stadium requires a couple of billions in debt to build and how many billions to hopefully build a team to play in it to attract the fans to spend the extra money... to make worthwhile. A foolproof plan.
I haven't said I know better or made a suggestion I'm asking why 100k other than it makes a good headline figure, I guess, and the United owners can BS that the extra seats will "pay for it"It doesn't require it, but it will impact how quickly tickets sell. What do you suggest though as you seem to think you know better than the highly educated people making this plan?
