You finance these things with debt, sponsorship and ticket sales, hospitality. Go and look at what the biggest new stadiums are doing. You can hold massive concerts at these places, sell expensive executive experiences. Make more money from people in and around the stadium. £2bn sounds like a lot but it really isn't in the modern day.

I don’t hate it, nice to see something a little different for once and I’m sure the final product will look slightly different. The potential from premium tickets and events will be huge so I wouldn’t worry too much about standard match going fans (harsh reality of modern football). As new as the emirates is there’s a reason they’re talking about expansion and modernisation, older stadiums are missing out on a decent chuck of easy revenue due to outdated designs. Will also help that Everton and spurs have recently built new stadiums as I’m sure they’ll pull a lot of experience from those projects.
You'd be amazed how much more financial sense over the long term it will make.

2 billion is a lot to claw back - but with a new stadium and millions more in income from coporate stuff / match day sales / food / merchandise etc - it will make long term sense.
Ah mines set to Euros. Although that's still a ~50% premium over retail value and is in the worse possible seating. I imagine the more popular seats would have a higher mark up. I agree with you though that the majority of tourists buying a ticket won't care whether there's anything to play for. They just want to watch United/visit Old Trafford.
The main element comes from corporate hosting though which is where the revenue is. It's why the Emirates makes huge buckets of cash. OT just doesn't have the facilities to host big expensive hospitality to keep up and that's where the bulk of the increase will come from. As you say an extra 25% of "regular" tickets would only add a little.
But you've already done all that, going from 40k to 75K with the existing stadium.
Spurs and Arsenal went from 40k to 60k, so 50% more seats with proven excess demand in London with all that corporate wealth on their doorstep, and both have struggled on the pitch because of it why didn't they both build 200k seater stadiums because demand and growth are infinite.

I reckon a few thousand seats are lost from that massive disabled section they have no? Seems a bit imbalanced, but then I'm not sure I can say that in 2025 without facing police knocking on my door.

If anyone can fill 100k it would be United or Liverpool. Good on them, it's ambitious and we get ripped off in this country for stadium sizes/cost compared to the Americans. The ticket prices will be what people are prepared to pay, football is ridiculously cheap compared to sports across the pond and football is getting more and more tourist fans. Football fans can't keep complaining about investment into the squad and then cry about ticket prices going up. Moan about footballers wages and wanting a cap if you want to keep ticket prices steady.
Good long term plan to put the club back in a dominate position for the future.

I am talking about club value. NFL and NBA franchises are worth up to 10 billion. These big stadiums are all about making that jump.
Wow I never even thought their values would come close to EPL clubs. But yeah I just looked and even the smallest sport NHL, values are worth way more than EPL clubs and that's with 20,000 stadiums (but 41 home games). I guess it must be because of the wage caps making the franchises worth more money? That's crazy really when the EPL get's far more eyes on it per game than Hockey games or even NFL. I'm guessing if the EPL had a wage cap of £100/200m, which also stops transfer fees Manchester United would be worth more NFL teams.

I think this is a slightly simplistic view. Season tickets and GA tickets will 100% increase - as they did at Spurs and will at Everton. Yes, there will be more and better corporate offerings but unlike at Spurs or Everton, Utd already have lots of these so there isn't the same scope for increased revenue here as there was for those clubs. The biggest potential for increased revenue comes from better facilities for ordinary fans - rather than fans turning up 15 mins before kick-off and leaving straight after the final whistle, spending all their money in local pubs and restaurants, Utd will want supporters to turn up an hour before kick-off and stay longer after the game, spending their money with them instead.
The big unknown is the cost and more specifically the cost of financing the stadium. Everton's 55k seater stadium with far less facilities than this will have cost £1bn, so even £2bn seems ambitious. Then how much of that amount will be borrowed and at what rate? Spurs have benefitted hugely by locking themselves into deals when interest rates were extremely low, the cost of borrowing is far higher now. IIRC Spurs are paying around £30m per year in interest on £800m of debt - the amount Utd borrow and the rate it will be borrowed at will be far higher.

You can't really compare NFL with our clubs, it's a very different competition. There is no promotion/relegation so the financials are much more guaranteed.
But the 40k to 75k in an old stadium over what 20/25 years doesn't bring in the bigger corporate sponsors... Brings in more punters but corporate is where the real money is at.
Imagine saying we have 100k brand new stadium... Fifa/Uefa will be falling over themselves to get cup finals there as they know corporate sponsors will fill the place out....
It's not about 25k more "fans" - it's about big money sponsors that will buy boxes for the next 10/20 years....
No, success brings in corporate sponsorship not a big shiny stadium, a couple of UEFA finals in 20 years is a few million quid and all the optimism of massive naming rights deals for stadiums have proven to be unrealistic, unless the money is dodgy.
