New Trafford

Yes I do. It's overdue and don't see why it wont. I don't know what motivates a 72ish year old to get involved in stuff like this. I mean he could not even live to see it built. The club seems like a huge thing to get involved in at that time of life.
Legacy. The new stadium and the memory of who ‘built’ it will live long after his billions have passed through a couple of generations of his progeny.

Could be worse: this one was once proposed for Battersea in London:

Its Sammy Snake!

Project like this should take 10 years but they will do it in 5

If that doesn't scream a problem then i don't know what does

Apparently they can use the canal to ship parts of the stadium in and put it together like a mechano set...

Can't see anything going wrong there :p

I'd honestly be surprised if it happens, I think there will be a huge amount of stumbling blocks.

Love all the armchair architects on here.
Redeveloping the stadium was never going to be a viable option. To be honest it's not a great stadium. Having been there 20 or so occasions I was never blown away by the experience other than it's great to see your team play for real. The atmosphere isn't helped by the construction and obviously it's falling apart. I've priced property refurbs before and every time the better economic case was to build new.

Having been in Tottenham's stadium a few times it really is a huge upgrade. From my point of view the ambition to build something like is great and despite our current predicament I think it shows a positive direction for the club. I suspect their is a hint of jealousy from rival fans as United have the prospect of having not only the largest stadium in the country but one of the most incredible all round developments. I also hope that it can deliver the regeneration that the area needs. It's really needed. Can we fill 100k week in week out - well probably not if we keep playing the dross we've had to suffer for the last period but I'm ever hopeful.

How’s it’s getting financed? Depending on how it’s financed can greatly affect the benefits of the new stadium.

Interest on loans etc isnt free and has to be accounted for in PSR etc.

At the moment it's surely just a Show Pony.
