Newcastle takeover???

Mauricio Pochettino is the manager that is targeted according to SSN
I would put a little money on Jorge Jesus. The Saudi's like him. Think he only lost 1 match when he was over there.

Brazil fans are going nuts at the rumours as they want him to be the National coach.

I also had to listen to a Benfica fan at work this morning raving about how good he is.

We can almost certainly say it’s done now with the Saudi minister of Sport and MBS' half brother now follow the official NUFC Twitter account. These are verified accounts, why would they do that all of a sudden? Would these people risk embarrassment by doing this and getting egg over their face by the sale falling through? The fact that they are following NUFC suggests this is going to get done.
Yeah keep the faith and avoid all the clickbait. The Saudi's don't announce anything till it's 100% done.

The paper's have started to recycle the human rights issues one day then the piracy issues the next.

City took 22 days for their checks to be completed and I'm sure Newcastle's are a little bit more complicated and we also have a pandemic going on.

Last source close to the deal said yes questions have been asked and answered and no red flags raised.

Sports lawyers have stated there is no direct link to the piracy in a story on the BBC so no reason why the deal should be stoped. The ownership test is not a moral test simply a financial one.

The government won't stop it as it's them who have invited the investment into the country.

A M.City type investment is also planed for the club and City if takeover goes ahead.

I stand corrected I thought it was owned by Sheikh Mansour who's person wealth is over 20 billion. Not counting what the family is worth which is a couple of trillions dollars probably.

Not 100% but that's the same information that was floating around two weeks ago and now being recycled.

I also believe beoutQ stoped broadcasting or something early Feb.

Yes but I checked out both articles and they only mentioned the letters that were sent at the start of the year which came to light the other week but they still expect the deal to go through after a small delay.

The PL themselves sent some letters so would already know the situation and I'm pretty sure the delay is due to them trying to get football restarted.

I think the last from the PL was a reply to the wife of that reporter. Saying their owners test goes well over what's required by law.

There will be new stories from the same reporter's tomorrow claiming sources close to the deal expect good news in the upcoming days.

This is all quite interesting TBH. I'm not as bullish but I still think it will go through.

I wouldn't be surprised if Saudi Arabia or any TV station or group linked to the Saudi Sovereign Fund would be barred from bidding due to conflict of interest.
I don't think you can ban TV stations from Saudi that's not directly linked to the PIF.

There's already a large interested growing in the premier League now from Saudi and the takeover isn't complete.

It's the reason why BeIN is going nuts as they stand to lose out if rival bids start to come in for their overseas rights.

Most PL clubs stand to profit if BEIN is outbidded or even end up paying more than they are now.

If Saudi TV stations do bid it's nothing but a win win for the PL. More money and it could help end privacy.

I can't stand him either but it doesn't change the fact he has no sway over any deal. He's not paying these TV contracts.
No but he has been one of the front men for BeIN sports campaign to stop this takeover.

He has an amazing back catalogue of tweets and blog posts showing his hatred for the toon. Think he doesn't like Liverpool also.

If this goes through I'm not sure what would be more fun. Watching transfer rumours or watching that pudding squirm when all his rants come back and bite him on the arse.

Well it's all positive this evening compared to the previous two days.

Yesterday they started to roll out the Mike is not happy story again and the story that 10 prem league clubs are not happy. Last time it was 3!!

Tonight we are getting stories that the tide has turned and the deal is at the end game.

The PL has been in contact with the buyers again and questions have been asked and answered with no major hiccups popping up so far. (I believe this is the second time)

Club financiers have said they see no problem with the deal going though as the owners more than meet the requirements and the only stumbling block is the piracy concerns which there is no clear links and the PL might see this as an opportunity to work with Saudi to help fight it.

They also stated that the lack of an official statement from Mike and the buyers is an excellent sign and this is completely normal and the delay is down to cova 19.

I fully expect the deal to be in jeopardy in tomorrows news!!!

I can't help but think we wouldn't get half this guff if someone didn't spot the updated charter house documents.

You also have to admire Amanda. Gets told to f off and labeled a time waster but comes back a year later determined to get her club.

Whoa whoa whoa what I miss lol.

More Fake News /poke another MP getting involved meh.

Wasn't long ago the Government wrote a multiple page booklet inviting Saudi to Invest into the UK.

A major investment in Club and City has been talked by people close to Amanda.

The government have already said they won't get in involved and have previously stated that you can have close working relationships with counties while raising concerns and pushing for change at the same time.

People keep talking about sports washing but there is always to sides of that coin. Sport can help usher in change. It has a history of doing so.

Kieran Maguire just done a brilliant podcast with the Chronicle of all places.

In short takeover will go through and has no doubt Saudi's will be bidding on the TV rights.

Quiet is good!!!!

Good chance it will get announced pretty soon papers seem to be running out of stories and getting so much flack for repeating BS and even fighting among themselves pretty funny to watch!!

Not sure if it true but a lot press reports in Saudi saying the deal is done and approved.

One report from the Government news channel.

With regards to FFP check out Kieran Maguire podcast he did with the Chronicle.

He basically said we can spend big for the next 3 years without getting into to much trouble because of the lack of spending in pervious years if the new owners want to.
