Newcastle takeover???

I believe that 44m lost was due to relegation and the 40m quid loan Mike set up which has now been repaid.

Can't remember where I seen it but I believe Clubs can spend what ever they want on facilities without it affecting FFP. It be nice having world class training ground compared to what we have now.

Also YES that blow up pool that is use for ice baths is still there. Someone took a picture of it tucked behind a shed the other day lol.

The training ground has been a sour point since the mid 90's. I remember seeing a chart of injuries and recovery time and Newcastle was one of the worse clubs in the league nearly double.

There won't be until transfer of funds and final paperwork filled I believe could be a week or so?

Stories have started to come from players and Mike Ashley side now that's it's just the final stages. The checks are complete and no red flags to stop the deal.

So it's not all coming from the buyers end.

Was going to write multiple paragraphs but what the point I only get called stupid and choked into submission :p
So here's some bullet points

1. If you think these issue's haven't been checked by lawyers and special teams yet then that's simply absurd. Let's spend millions of pounds but avoid the the massive elephant in the room until now.

2. That interview. The second question was about the Test not specifically Newcastle. If it was then he has just broke the NDA. It has been reported before that the test will be revised to stop this happening again like with Southampton. Can't change the goalpost in the middle of the test.

3. That same reporter expects the takeover to be completed. He said this after that interview.

Right going to give this thread a rest and come back once it's completed or failed.

My response will be balls!! Or highly likely laugh my balls off at Mr premiership :p

How much for Virgil?

I'm back :p just poking fun :p.

I have new news!!!!

The potential new owner's have met with the council with plans to rename east stand and the number 9 bar.

That would be nice, if there opinion changed, but every time the club has tried to buy the land the council have told the club to get stuffed. TBH the stadium can’t be extended any more anyway as Ashley sold strawberry place last year and behind the east stand, Leazes Terrace is a Grade I listed building so that stand can’t be extended. It’s more likely a new stadium would be built as the land that SJP sits on is now prime real estate

Does Strawberry place sale effect the plans that came out a while ago?

Rotating the pitch 90 degrees for an extra 20K.

Having the stadium in the city centre is amazing.
I can catch a quick flight to Newcastle, stay on the Quayside enjoy the pubs and restaurants. Go shopping with the other half to keep her happy then take a dander to the stadium for the game. Don't think we even used the metro on game day.

Getting tickets might be a pain now tho!!

Re City, they agreed the outline terms of the purchase at the start of September, they then carried out their due diligence over the next 3 weeks but the deal was approved and concluded within 2 days of that. It's possible that the PL began their checks while Abu Dhabi were still finalising their deal with Shinawatra but from the point of reaching a final agreement and approval was just 2 days.
Man City was 4 weeks just for the test if I'm not mistaken.
I believe more than 1 buyer can enter the due diligence phase and gain access to the clubs books.

There's also the exclusive stage when an offer has been agreed.

Then it's the test.

Problem this time round was someone spotted the charter house documents and it's became very public.

Also the fact a lot of people and clubs don't want this to happen.

You don't have to have a bid accepted to start due diligence.

Peter Kenyon cost Mike over 1million in fees and a bid was never tabled.

You don't bid on a club when you have no clue how much it is worth.

Well Mike Ashley is a prat what do you expect :p

Check out the book done deal.

5 main steps
due diligence and the Non Disclosure Agreement
The heads of terms
Sales of purchase agreement

Premier League notification.

Didn't Amanda broker City takeover? Think she got millions out of it.

Every report I seen have said test can take up to 4weeks and that's without the baggage this takeover has.

Also the reports that the premiership had to bring in an army of outside lawyers to go over this deal to investigate and cover themselves.

Yeah I believe under normal circumstances it's under 2 weeks but up to 4.

Throw in the covid19 and all the letters Mr Masters has to reply to it's understandable it's taking this long.

That Dr talal al maghrabi guy said announcement next week a few days ago and I'm sure their week is slightly different than ours. So probably start of June?

Last leaked info was final checks complete and just needed signed off and payment transferred which could take a week and it's down the the New buyers to announce.

I believe the info came from the buyers side in Saudi hence all the new coverage it's getting over there now.

To me this is one of the biggest signs yet that the deal is possibly done, It’s like he has heard from sources and he’s raging and having a meltdown.
Also a pretty bold accusation to say the government have blackmailed the Premier League into greenlighting the takeover, which Gray distanced himself from straight away.

Hah thanks!! Ole hairy hands seems to be having a breakdown of epic proportions. You reap what you sow and he's in for a world of abuse when this finally goes through.

Also what do you think of the Poch links?

Also just a heads up from Ben Jacobs from BeIN check below. He also went on to say that the deal won't be stopped unless there is clear proof that the Government started BeoutQ. Check him out on twitter.

Just a bit of context on the @WTO report on beoutQ. The remit was to "rule on Saudi Arabia’s alleged failure to provide adequate protection of intellectual property rights.”
That's not quite the same as ruling on whether the Saudi government are/were directly behind beoutQ.

What I miss lol

Just saw that above letter last night and comming from lawyers and sport lawyers they said that QC is extremely expensive so who is paying for it? BeIN???

Also big talk in the middle East that anything BenIN bids for the overseas TV rights Saudi's with stick 50m on lol.

Becoming a bit of a farce ATM but every single sports lawyer or club financiers still except it to go through.

Seen multiple outlets now saying the PIF are a separate legal entity so would be very hard to link them to any wrong doing.

Read a few stories today and the deal is a bit more complex than first thought. Could explain the delay.

Its been reported that the premiership had to hire extra lawyers and outsource a lot of work to corporate investigation teams and so on.

Since there's 3 holding companies each one had/has to be investigated and the people behind them all checked. Weeks and weeks of work as well as the other issue's as well as the pandemic.

Places still reporting that all the work is done and it's down to the PL to trawl through all the details and rubber stamp it or reject.
