I read the article in the Times on Tuesday and I was a bit disappointed. I think after the two seasons we've supported Owen through his injuries, the least he could do is give us one good season to give something back to the club.

However, from what a lot of the mags on this forum have been saying recently, a fair few of you wouldn't mind us being shot of him.

Owen should give us some loyalty... even if its just for a season...

The sponging sod, after the last year and a half.

After a year he might get us in europe and stay, who knows.. but tail end shepheard is sort of right

Bit harsh on Owen as the article is basically crap. How can you go and insult him when he hasn't had a chance to prove himself. :confused:

And you do know that we didn't pay his wages this season? Half was covered by insurance and the other half by the FA, in fact, since he returned before the end of the season, we technically made money as his wages are still being paid.

His 100Grand a week wage
11 games 7 goals

Fat Fred little outburst seems the Clause is true

This is shoddy buisness. Not to mention Newcastle has not got a single penny Off the FA for Owen treatment

What the hell has that got to do with what I said? I said it's harsh to critisize Owen after articles that he may leave, give him a chance to prove himself before slagging him off. I wasn't talking about Shepherd.

You said we made money on owen wages. Iam just pointing out how much we stand to lose to FatFred. FA still has not given money towards his medical bill

Yeah I totally agree about that side. I was just annoyed at people questioning Owen's loyalty, obviously if he does leave this summer then is a ****, but he hasn't yet and so I still have respect for him.

To be honest if i was him id have one that let him get bought out if newc finished low in league.

Owens a lot better than what is it, 12th?
And im not a remote fan of him, i think hes overrated, but he should be at a better performing club than that, and yes you might be higher if he'd played, but christ, you cant blame him for leaving, hes the biggest name at the club BY FAR, and with shepherd thats not going to change is it?
Sunderland WILL leapfrog newcastle this season, unless shepherd frees up a hefty kitty for transfers, and you sell off half the squad, which lets face, wont happen.

LOL, I think you'll find it's the mackems who need to buy Premiership quality players, or it could be another embarrasing short stay in the top flight.

The mackems dont have a stingey chairman, you do.
Currently they're on better form too. Yeah theyv been playing championship teams, but christ, newcastle have been performing like a championship team.
Sunderland are only looking to get better now, newcastle on the other hand are on a downward spiral, you'll have to hope shepherd flashes some cash, or maybe newc may stand a chance at silverware, but itll be from a lower league.

If Micheal Owen doesn't want to play for NUFC, get rid of him. Simple as. I for one am fed up of gutless displays by the players. If they don't want to be at the club, get rid of them.

I want players who are proud to pull on the glorious black and white. I want them to feel as good as I would if I were given a run out (lol, dreamworld I know, but we've all been there!

), and I want them to try their best as if it means something to them.

It's no coincidence that our best performances this season have come when it was the kids and reserves in the first team. A bit of effort and pride can easily make up for any shortcomings in experience/skill.

Anyway, just my thoughts.

I agree cashing in on owen would be the smart thing to do. Take the money now and let someone else deal with his problems. He doesnt have much left in him, the pace is gone. A one trick pony. If they get offered anything like 9 million whip their hands off.

You don't become world class just with pace and he far from a one trick poney.........

He better than most at finding space and peeling off the last defender watch his movement next time he plays.

But I agree he owes the club but I posted else where if he wants to go let him. If he does not wan't to repay the club for what we done the past 2 years then **** him

Am just really ****** with Fatfred transferdealins... It going to bankrupt the club If we don't start geting high league places. Next season is very fliping important the place/prize money has raised a lot due to a huge tv Deal

Is that in relation to what he has recently said about Owen or the mobile video footage of him chatting with some Liverpool fans while driving? Or both?
