Its plain ugly. Awful colours and design, I couldnt feel proud wearing that thing.

Hes not a she, nor a he-lover, hes worse, hes mag born&bread.

People who think it looks plain gash dont buy their teams home kit, it looks medievil.

I literally don't understand.

What colours would you prefer? Red and white?

Well i'm baffled. Time to bow out of this thread.

perhaps a white flag on the back of the new one, seeing as your defence keeps giving up?

Good to see the club are putting Owen to some use.
Worth every penny.

Indeed. Great to see him getting some time on the training pitch as well imo. He is really a great signing for Newcastle especially when he is fully fit and on form.

I was slightly bemused when he said it was in the top 5 worst kits in the world. Maybe he means our change kit;

imo mate you seem to be having a go at the toon rather than the strip

iv just walked past the club shop in eldon square, ill change what i said yes sorry. The away kit is probably worse than the home kit, either way, the home kit is still awful, and i am fairly sure it was the one in the top100 worst kits coming in at around 4 or 5

awful colours? ok that has to be the stupidest comment ever. it can only be 2 colours.

the naughty one is the torquoise(sp) away one, that one is nasty, personally i like the the maroonish type one looks nice.

for the record : mackems are worse than geordies.

Im neither, though im a northern lad. But christ, the kits are ugly.

im quite a fan of the 3rd kit ( the torquoise(sp) one) wearing it now, not a great fan of our away kit though :p

Just wondering what the Mags on here think of the announcement today?

I'm not sure to be honest. I sort of think it's good, then I wonder what the point is?

I'm sick of having a superb stadium coupled with a crap team. Whats the point in expanding if we're just going to have a mediocre mid table team every year?

The last redevelopments were spurred on by events on the pitch. Whats the reason now? I can see us struggling to fill a 60000 plus stadium if improvements aren't made to the team.

Surely it would make sense to build a team which is consistently top four material before you get the club into more debt?

This season has been rubbish. I'm normally able to take some good points out of most matches, but after this weekend I actually think it's time for Glenn to go. He seems unable to motivate the players, and its as if they don't want to play for him. Has Shepherd got money to burn with a new manager this summer? Or will we get a trophy signing (Owen style) to appease the fans instead of buying some defenders?

Do any of you still think Glenn is the manager to take us forward?

Is the stadium expansion just Fat Freddy's way of selling season ticket renewals?

I don't believe we are a big team anymore. Does anyone think we are? (awaits sarcastic comments from other forumites! ;) )

Anyway, just wondering what the other Mags think of the situation, as I find it very depressing at the moment! :(

utterly pointless stadium proposal.

our team sucks it needs rebuilding not the stadium, we can't even half fill the ground for european games so whats the point in adding more empty seats.

we just recorded a loss of 6.9 million and fatty wants to use 300millon, a mean the guys a joke.

personally i think give glenn say about 25mill and he WILL buy some good players for next season, i truly believe that! Don't bloody sack another manager and have to start again thats going backwards not forwards.

personally i think we were a big team, yeah u'll get all the other club fans saying we weren't etc, but our previous position records has been pretty consistently good as opposed to other teams. but now we are a crappy mid table team, who has the odd glimmer of skill, but generally is scrapping together wins and points. every1 no's what our faults are am not gonna say them all again, but i think we have one and thats it if we sorted it we'd be top 6 every season i think.

your right in that the last development plan was based on the field and it really worked, cause week in week out we pack our stadium to the brink even though we suck, but this time its not warranted.

if we lose this weekend against sheff united AGAIN, then i want a massive player clear out in the summer, including,

moore, taylor, bramble, babyaro, carr, emre, luque, solano (2 old)

those are supposed first choice players i would happily see leave the toon. we could scrape 25 million for them lot i reckon.

Eh?
Solano has arguably been one of our only highlights this season and only an idiot would sell Steve the power Taylor.

Funding for the Number 1 St. James' Park project will be completely independent of the football club's revenues.

It'll be a consortium of developers , private financers and grants.
The land the metro station / strawberry car park sit on belongs to the club.
Not only will the club get the 8,000 seats as a sweetener I'd also imagine a wedge of cash if it goes ahead too.
That end of the toon has been in need of some regeneration for 20 years now , I hope the knock the brewery down n'al while the're at it (hopefully while Freddie is in there using the netty!)

the power??
because he powers it into the crowd?

Newc were big once upon a time, these days you just cant compete anymore though. Dont see much point in stadium cap being increased even if it is for free, right now things dont seem like they're going to get any better for you mags. Cant they spend the money on flattening byker instead

I agree with Vandle on this, why would you get rid of Nobby? I would hold on to Taylor for another season as well. Get rid of the rest of the chaff like you say though.

As for the development, if it's good for the area and good for the club, why not do it? The extra jobs it's going to create and the extra revenue it will bring in can only be a good thing for Newcastle as a city and a football club!
