Next Graphics Card Drop for OCUK.. !

Appreciate its difficult, but as you have cloudflare, you could create a custom area on the website for long time members, advertise that link via the members market and enforce access only via a custom WAF rule that permits the http header value referer from the members market link.

Or I could just be patient.

Give it up. If people can't check the forum on a daily basis then they don't deserve an easy ride. OcUK are doing the best they can under demand pressures.

And what about all those other genuine customers, ie none miners/scalpers, that don't have access to the members market? Or the miners/scalpers that do have access to the MM and so their competition is subdued? A lot of bad will would be created that way.

Not feeling victimised at all.
well if anyone including miners can sign up then it defeats the point. whilst i sympathize with your being new and could be a genuine want, i sympathize more for long standing members who cant get cards because anyone and everyone is now flocking to the forum pretending to be a loyal long standing customer with gaming in mind.
i don't mean you ofc this is just a general statement.

I'm pretty sure OCUK want more customers who they can then hopefully sell more stuff to. If they restricted sales to 'long standing customers/members' then they would soon go out of business as past customers couldn't sustain the business long term. Past custom doesn't guarantee future custom.

It's a non-starter anyway. Someone who qualifies for the MM could easily pass on details to PartAlert etc. just like any other forum viewer could. Being eligible for the MM does not make them morally aligned to those who want the equipment for gaming only.

Its a good point, on that basis you just need to include myself @LtMatt and @Grim5 , have no fear we shall wield the power wisely. Fleabay estore with 45% markup to shortly follow afterwards.

Totally agree with you. What about those customers who have spent £1,000 or 10s of £1,000s but don't participate in forums? Why should they be blocked from ordering more goods? It's a never ending battle whilst stocks of highly sort after items are in short supply. You have to feel sorry, to some degree, for @Gibbo et al at OCUK who are forever getting it in the neck for a global shortage of components that isn't their fault or making.

lol then quit moaning that you cant get one, you cant have your cake and eat it... there are other ways than post count to be inclusive, you can use things like account history (not here as its an old site). you may not see it (ocuk certainly do) but someone buying all of your stock in 1 go is actually not a win for a shop.
besides you lot are all bias as your new so you are bound to say that.. :D:p

Well I'm certainly not moaning, I am in a queue and will get what I ordered in due course. I can certainly live with that. It is you getting all high and mighty because you have over 1500 posts and thus seem to think that you are better than others with fewer posts. A bit infantile really, my daddy is bigger than your daddy.... :p:rolleyes:

i aint getting high and mighty, was just making a suggestion, i don't care either way to be honest.. as it wont happen. i dont care about my post count, if i did itd be way higher than 1500. i think your getting the wrong end of the stick and getting salty because you think i think your a miner. in any case goodluck to you, i hope you dont have to wait to long. :)

Hokey dokey, maybe I misunderstood you earlier. I'll just leave it there.

Depends if they had a section of the website that was only viewable like MM is and then what's unsold could be moved onto the regular pages.

Or maybe next time 4000 series GPUs get released open a pre-order section in MM.

@Gibbo @ScottiB OCUK delivered my 3070 today, thanks. However I later managed to secure a 3080FE so this card is isn't really needed anymore. What is best, return it to OCUK or offer it on Members Market for what I paid for it? Thought I'd ask here rather than just add to the phone jam by calling. I would have messaged but it appears I can't send either of you a message.

that's entirely up to you, you're within your rights to do either. Although with the later the buyer could pay your postage. We don't cover that for unwanted returns.

If you decide to return the card to us I'd recommend dropping us a webnote rather than calling: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/part-returns-enquiry

Ok thanks. I'm away for a few days but will probably put it up on MM when I get home. I take it transferring warranty isn't an issue?

not really, officially it can be but as long as you pass them the invoice so that we can track down the order we're ok. The only issue comes if we end up having to issue a refund for anything...we can't change payment details.
